I’m lazy… what are the current best digiscoping set ups?

Any additional updates? I ordered one to try with Maven 15s if it works out on those I’ll snag the updater for my spotter.

The magnets strong enough to hold the pro max in place well? My complaint with the magview is the phone was heavy enough to slide around
I haven’t had extensive use, just at range so far. I’ll be using it a lot starting in August.
The magnets the first time I put it on seemed like it was sagging but just reoriented the adapter ring a little and problem was solved.

magview is bringing a new phone magnet to market soon, i believe August. It uses three magnets but one is reversed to make it repeat alignment with the S1 spotter cap. my problem is the charge thru mag is week and wont hold the phone up on a STC. i have the new magnet and new phone case should be here in a couple days.

It’s not that I’m actually lazy, I’ve just been too busy with memes and playing with my AI action figures. I haven’t looked into digiscoping in years. I currently use the Outdoorsman’s system. Sorry… I “run” the Outdoorsman’s system. It’s okay… it can be a little cumbersome with all the rings and the dedicated phone case and only using my phone. I was wondering if there was a better system out there that is fast, light, and easy to use. I typically digiscope with a spotter, SLC 15s, and sometimes SLC 10s. Is there a consensus top one or two digiscope adapters out on the market?
I’m late to the party and I’ve not read any of the responses, but if you wear glasses as I do, I hate all the “new” systems. They put your eye even further away from the eyepiece when not using the phone which is for me 95% of the time. Give me the good old PhoneSkope and I’ll pay the $20 bucks whenever I do need to change phones for a new case. The eye piece parts all switch out to the new case.

I wish them the best and genuinely hope that their future customers have better luck than I did. It was a simple purchase to see if it would work for me and it didn't meet exceptions. I'm going to eat the cost and wash my hands on this. I've spent enough time on it already to make it worthwhile to get this to work for a single optic when I still have three more to go (since the size guide appears to be incorrect for SLC 10x42).

I've checked multiple times that the magtab was in the proper location; it is per the alignment tool. I've checked multiple times the spacer (with provided bands in place) on my SLC 15s and there's horizontal and vertical movement unless I force (not press like the Mountain Mag) it onto the barrel; the site says my "perfect adapter size is: Bravo". I've checked multiple times the spacer (with provided bands) on my SLC 10x42 and it is too large; the site says my "perfect adapter size is: Bravo".

The image below is with an empty phone case and you can see that even with less than 2 ounces it starts to "pull away"; no readjusting/repositioning works. When I put my phone (7.25 ounce) into the case and reattach it, the gap at top goes to 0.75"; all issues get compounded. The unwanted movement is significantly worse with the phone in the case; plenty of unwanted movement with an empty case.

I want to jump on here and try and clear a few things up. First I sincerely apologize for the issues you have had. We try our best to make sure all of our kits work great for everyone. I do not want this post to come off as me belittling these issues you have had. I want to trouble shoot and solve them!

It is of note that I did contact you directly to workout any issues you have had. You choose not to engage in any trouble shooting or take my offer to exchange. I offered this as I would to all customers. I did not realize you were posting a Rokslide review until now, so that was not a motivation. The exchange and or refund is still an option should you choose to accept it.

A response to the issues. First in the photo above, the rubber on otterbox cases like your sags and pulls away. I can see looking closely where the MagTab attaches to the case on top of the MagTab it is pulling off of the case due to the sag. One solution to this is to add a second piece of the 3M under the rubber of the case. Between the soft rubber and the hard plastic. Moving to a hard plastic case could also be a solution.

Spacer to bino fitment. You mention that the spacer is too loose. I will look into our sizing guide and make any corrections as necessary. Be we offer, as I did to you, a free spacer exchange. Literally no cost to the customer in case the fit it not as good as the customer would want.

Website issues. You say the site is incompatible with some/all of your devices. That is the first and only time I have heard this. I have checked and it works fine with all of my apple devices.

Wireless charging. We now have a MagSafe attachment to help solve this issue.

I appreciate the review and think it important for people to see the pros and the cons of all products including ours. I am sharing our side here and want to be clear I feel all of these issues can be easily solved. That doesn't change the fact it did not work for you, so again we apologize.

Our offer to fix these issues still stands.

That’s great to hear, I had looked into your stuff previously and while it is a good system the requirement to forgo MagSafe to use it was the primary reason I went with Epoch Outdoors instead.
MagSafe Available now!

Ollin and Magview. Take your pic…Ollin needs a unique phone case but aligns automatically. Magview doesn’t use a proprietary case but you have to align it and it is not dummy proof. I chose Ollin.
I found that with my new phone which has multiple cameras that the MagView system wouldn't work as it requires one camera to line up correctly and focus. Might be worth checking before purchase. YMMV

OnGlass did reach out to me.

This was a test purchase to see if their solution would work for me starting with a single optic: my SLC 15s. If the "as delivered" solution worked, I would have ordered 2-3 more spacers to cover my remaining optics. But the "as delivered" solution did not work. The main issue is the fitment of the optics spacer and that is a battle that I am not investing any more time on. If a company can't get one right, why should I expect the replacement and remaining three to be issue-free.

I wish OnGlass all the best.

Lol you’re the only person I’ve ever heard of having trouble with it. Maybe it’s a you issue?

I ended up sticking with my outdoorsman set up. Nothing seemed to be worth the price for a similar setup to what I already have (and is paid for). It would be nice to use the same phone case, but otherwise I don’t MagSafe charge, I don’t want crap hanging off my optics all the time, etc. it was going to cost me upwards of $250 to gain very little. Honestly, I was pretty surprised at the prices being charged too. I came really close to buying the Mountain Mag. That seemed to be the closest to what I was looking for but, but still over $250 to cover all 4 optics I have and really wasn’t all that different from what I currently use. Really what they need to do is get an adjustable optic adaptor (the kind you rotate to expand/collapse onto the eyepiece) so you only need one or two.

After reading this thread and getting a recommendation from a very good source, I went with Ollin for my spotting scope. The only pain was the price. Attached easy and holds like a charm. No issues with lining up. For my purpose on a single device, was a great choice.

I picked up the Mountain Mag setup. So far I am a huge fan. I have a phone case I like. I made sure it was MagSafe compatible. Now the scope adapter stays on my scope. My phone adapter fits nicely in my binocular case. It’s been simple to use. I need more time behind it, but I am really impressed so far.

I just picked one up as well and agree, this is the best digiscoping set up I’ve used by far.

I’ve used the Phone Skope, Novagrade, Outdoorsmans, and Ollin prior to the Mountain Mag. So far the MM is the easiest to use, it’s rock solid and I don’t have to have any special case, etc..

Still need some more time with it, but impressed so far.
