I’m lazy… what are the current best digiscoping set ups?

Here is what I have learned so far in attempting to find a functional digiscoping setup. There is no best digiscoping setup as it is very optic specific.

Figure out which optic(s) you want to digiscope with and then go find which companies offer a solution for you. You may also want to consider which optics you can forego if a preferred vendor doesn't support an optic.

Below is a claimed coverage table for my optics.

Warning: A vendor's claim on optics support is not a guarantee it actually works.

Easy way to eliminate solutions from consideration. Then you can spend money to find out that others should be crossed off the list due to fitment issues and/or QC issues. Somehow the road takes you back to PhoneSkope.

Fun stuff.

Have you used it?
I just received one, it works quite well, strong magnets and snaps in perfect every time. The adapter that attaches to the spotter comes with a cover but I probably won’t leave it on as it’s pretty big. For the price I think it’s pretty hard to beat. Only down side is you can only line it up with one camera lens compared to something like the mountain mag

Which binoculars? Does it connect to one of the focus rings or does it connect to one of the barrels? Asking since I have SLC 10s
I currently have Vortex Razor HD 10x50 binos. It connects to the eyecup of your choice. I leave the adapter on my eyecup and I haven’t had any issues with glassing through them. It’s a little funky looking at the eyecups because the adapter makes them wider and has magnets, but I’ve had zero experience with performance issues.

Photos are the setup and “photo” mode on my camera. I only have the black ring on “photo” mode. Once I switch to “video” the camera widens so it’s a full picture.

I've found you kind of have to pick between priorities with digiscope adapters. I've pretty much settled on the ScopeCam adapter for my needs. It's not the fastest but it's generally quick enough for my needs. It's also cheap and easy to swap when I get a new phone and it's versatile enough that I can use it on my Binos, little spotter or big spotter without needing any additional parts or adapters. I use the Mag 2 fixed position plate but if you wanted to use multiple lenses on your phone the Mag 1 will accommodate that need. I just buy a cheap $10 tpu case to throw the magnet on and only use that case when I'm hunting or scouting. That's really all I need to replace as I upgrade phones. It's low profile enough I could use it as my everyday case but it isn't compatible with wireless charging so I don't. You can use your phone as normal with it on, including taking photos with your phone from any lens when not attached to the scope.

Again, there are faster options out there but you run into compatibility issues, extra costs for different optics and new adapters every time you upgrade a phone, etc.

Another one I saw a YouTube video on that intrigued me is from Impactdigiscoping.com. A birder designed it so I don't think it's gotten much traction on the hunting world yet but it has a lot to like about it. It's also fairly inexpensive at $55 and looks really quick and unpbtrusive. It's new enough that it sounds like you can reach out to him if he doesn't have your optics and he'll Make one to fit. Biggest drawback to me is you need different adapters for Binos vs. spotters and optic has it's own adapter. Still, I think I'd personally get this over the Ollin even if they were the same price.

I appreciate the shout out!
Regarding the binoculars vs spotting scope adapters being different, I think this may be a bit of a blind spot on my side for birding vs hunting. With birding, most people are using 8x or 10x bins and handholding them, any adapter that interferes with using the binoculars regularly isn't really acceptable.
I can absolutely make the spotting scope style eyepieces for binoculars, but it would need to be removed when not digiscoping (see the photo, the diameter of the neon green ring would stay the same). If that's something people would be interested in I can add it as an option, I hadn't done so because I didn't want to add any unnecessary confusion.

Is your Swarovski STC spotting scope adapter also compatible with the ATC? I think they have the same eye piece but I'm not sure...

I went with the Mountain Mag since it checks all of my boxes. I have no regrets. Shipped the same day that I ordered. I am using it on only one spotter, a Maven CS1. I use an iPhone 16 Pro. Epoch customer support has been really good. If you get this setup definitely follow their set-up video for the iPhone because the camera app settings need to be changed when selecting lenses. Once you get the camera app “tweaked” it is just like looking through the phone. Only need to change the camera app settings during initial setup then good to go. The Maven is crystal clear. I use a “smartish” heavy duty protective phone case and a one piece lens cover. The eyepiece lens clearance is exact…no cant at all.

What iPhone 16 Pro case are you using? I have the same phone and got my mountain mag setup Saturday but neither my case or my wife’s (same phone) allow it to line up properly. Seems the magnets in the case aren’t positioned correctly, without a case on it lines up fine.

I Use generic plastic phone holder that you screw down for my kowa, works fine once you line it up but there is an air gap about 1/2" so have to be careful of light leaking in sometimes.

What cases do you and your wife have? I have one on the way and was worried about that. I don’t want to get a new case or have to use without.

The STC and ATC should use the same eyepiece, I just don't like to list any scopes as being compatible until I've gotten confirmation that the adapter does fit properly. If you want to double check with a tape measure, the widest part of the eyecup should be about 2-5/16".

I got the mountain mag today and really like it so far, big step up from the magview. It works with my iPhone (16 pro max) in a UAG MagSafe case. Also works with the camera lenses protective cover on, my previous iPhone with magview never would.

Adapter fits tight on my Kowa 55 and 88. I downloaded the Final Cut camera app like suggested to fix the lens swapping and it’s super easy, prefer it over the Magview app.

Any additional updates? I ordered one to try with Maven 15s if it works out on those I’ll snag the updater for my spotter.

The magnets strong enough to hold the pro max in place well? My complaint with the magview is the phone was heavy enough to slide around
