I’m lazy… what are the current best digiscoping set ups?

Well I went to buy On Glass for my binoculars (SLC 10s and 15s) and spotting scopes (Kowa 554 and STX 65/95). But their site is not Apple friendly (at least for me). It doesn't allow me to select binoculars on my Mac (all browsers). On my iPhone I can buy a single kit (binoculars or spotting scope) but it will not allow me to buy additional spacers; it won't even let me buy three additional full kits (tested but would never do that). I do wish them the best but I am not going to do four separate orders just to buy their digiscope setup.

So does that leave Mountain Mag? Their site works just fine on my Mac (all browsers) and my iPhone.
@OnGlass

I would have but their site will not allow me to order what I want on neither of my Macs nor with my iPhone. Asinine to have to place 4 separate orders to buy what I need for my 4 optics.
Yes I know. I tagged him so hopefully he will see your post and help you.

a more affordable option that is currently on sale at 20% off

Dear Forum Jerk, thank you. I’ll check out the onglass.

I entered the thread to give an opinion earlier, been using Ollin for years, and I just ordered a Mountain Mag setup. Looks like it addresses the primary gripe with Ollin - the phone case.

Do appreciate it.

I have not finalized the purchase on the other product yet. May just do my Kowa 554 spotter to see if it works and go from there; passing on 20% off isn’t going to break the bank when it’s all said and done.

UPDATE
I purchased the Mountain Mag for one of my spotting scopes and the On Glass for my binoculars. I'll compare them on my phone to see which one makes the most sense for me.

I use Kite Optics, it will fit nearly any optic though it does take some aligning to get just right

Hey sorry to hear you had some issues on our site. Most of the time its super simple. DM me and we can get you taken care of!

I use the magview due to not having to use a proprietary case. If I had found on glass before I bought magview, I would probably gone that route.

Does onglass work with wireless charging?
Right now the wireless charging is variable between phones and chargers. But stay tuned, next month for any MagSafe users, we something new coming out!

Always happy to workout any issues. Not sure why the site didn't work for you I will look into it. Shoot me a DM and we can get you taken care of. As a note based on the optics you mentioned it would be 3 spacers. So one full kit with 2 additional spacers covering 4 optics is a comparable price to the other systems mentioned here for 1 optic and you can move our MagTab to a new phone when you get one vs buying a new special case.

I have used a Novagrade Double Gripper for 10 years. For a do it all universal system it's tough to beat, but that versatility comes with some fiddle factor and bulk.

I recently purchased the Kapture system. That's as close to perfect as I've ever found. I prefer the mounting setup compared to the Ollin and so far my only complaint is that my iphone still screws up which camera it's using occasionally when it tries to turn on macro mode. As long as I disable macro mode I've had zero issues.

Check out his video for locking the lens on an iPhone. No 3rd party camera app is needed.

I just got the Epoch Outdoors Mountain Mag and I have to admit I like it way more than the phoneskope I used for years. All I have to do is slap the adapter on the back, match it up with the magnetic eye piece and it’s good. No special case, no permanent adaptor to stick on the case, no magnet that won’t let you use MagSafe chargers none of it.

Just use what ever MagSafe compatible case you have, match the adapter to the phone model, the eyepiece to the scope and you are good to go.

This one is intriguing. Does its optic adapter add a ton of eye relief like the Magview?

My complaint with the magview is I lose the ability to wireless charge the phone and the eye piece adapter adds enough eye relief to my binos to be annoying.

The answer is On Glass. I’ve used one for years now. It’s what Form and Ryan use, too.

He’s local, young ex military, and does all manufacturing in the states.
The biggest issue with OnGlass is the requirement to use a special adapter on the case which prevents the use of MagSafe charging and limits case options.

If the had an option of using the existing MagSafe set up already in the phone that would be even better.

I haven’t used it on my binos yet as I only bought the spotting scope adapters but those don’t add enough to be an issue that I’ve noticed. That being said I haven’t spent a ton of time behind the scope since I got them so I don’t know how much of a difference there would be briefly looking at things vs spending hours glassing through them.

MagSafe solution will be out very soon!
