If you never shot over 600 yards?

I'm currently messing with a 6.5-7PRC. It's pretty cool. Killed a big pig with it at 608 yards the other day and the lighting was perfect, and recoil light enough, that I watched the vapor trail the whole way until impact. That was a cool sight.

I'm thinking 6 CM or 6.5 PRC for my next western hunting rifle to replace my 30-06. A quick check of Hornady's ballistic charts for loaded ELD-M: the 6.5 PRC only beats the 6 CM by 1.5" at 500 yards. I don't plan to shoot animals past that so I'm thinking I'd go 6 CM. I might choose the PRC to help appease the Fudds I hunt with.
