Motorcycle Hunting

Picked this up last weekend...there are ones like it listed in and around KC for over $5k. Paid a couple hundred under list ($3999), so I think i bought it right.

You'll like that bike a lot, especially with the efi. My cousin has the same one and it goes everywhere I have gone on my CRF250 R and now my current bike which is the '21 KLX 300 R. We ride in the Idaho mountains and have packed a few animals off with them. I run the Enduro Engineering chainsaw mount though so I don't have a headlight rigged up yet.

Yes, I have traded with buddies on rides. Not a good idea lol. Suspension difference was huge. Sure would like electric start to.

I was wondering when you said you cant get yourself to replace it.

Notta damn thing wrong with an old xr. But they have figured some things out in the 40 years since that thing was made :ROFLMAO:

not sure I follow, but I’ve yet to have an issue in 15 plus years, I get there when I get there.

It's not an issue of speed...it's an issue of weight and suspension primarily.

I'm not saying a guy can't hunt with a TW200. I'm saying a guy can't hunt the same places with a TW200 that a guy on a Beta X-Trainer or even a CRF250F can hunt.

I get the appeal of a TW200. Low seat height, relatively low cost, ability to legally ride roads. I'm simply telling you no serious trail rider in Idaho chooses a TW to ride the backcountry. It simply has too many limitations. For about the same money, a guy can buy a CRF250F and be much better off.

Whats the preferred way to pack a rifle on a bike?
I keep it in my backpack. When I met up with some buddies they thought the suppressor looked like a big radio antenna.
I’d love to find another way because it’s too tall for low hanging branches. I can duck my head but the barrel still hits. When I carried my AR, I took it apart and it fits below my helmet.

I used a TW200 for many years and they are good just not designed for hard use. The TTR230 is not street legal but is by far better for trail use just add a light. I love my 300 XCW but the TTR is not far behind it IMO but I’m not a motocross racer I’m a woods rider.
