If you had $1500 to spend on a new western hunting setup, what would it be?

There's no world where a 6.5 Creed is better than a 6.5 PRC for hunting.

How about a world where the PRC is using a mono and the CM a ELDM? Isn't the PRC only like 100fps faster?

Yeah the prc vs creedmoor argument doesn’t hold much water they are shooting the same projectiles. Barrel length can affect velocity a lot so a Cm with a 20” barrel is going to be faster than a prc with a 16” barrel…

100 fps, if true, is still better. Extends your ethical range. Besides, you need to compare the same bullets. It's not a real comparison to give the CM a better bullet and then claim the difference representative.

However, it would be much better to get a PRC in 20" than a CM in 20".

Recoil isn't an issue either. My 10 year old daughter shoots the PRC with no hesitation. When my son was 10 he couldn't believe how low recoiling the PRC was compared to my .270 which he also shot.

Your ethical range is how far you can accurately put your first round in 6inch circle. I don’t think it really pertains to the prc/ cm debate. You can say the prc will have more velocity and therefore have bullets disrupt at minimum velocity further than a Cm sure that’s true

But, but, but. . . one recoils 35% more for a 10% increase in muzzle velocity, with less factory ammo options that cost more per round. That one is better, right?

Well it’s not associated with the dreaded “manbun” “needmoor” so yeah it’s totally different and better cause it says prc after the 6.5

My $.02 is put that money toward getting out west to get boots on the ground and building experience. A nice rifle is awesome, but it is rather useless if you can’t find animals.
