If you could move and live anywhere in the lower 48 where would you go?

I've lived in TN my whole life and am in my early 40s. I've been fortunate enough to hunt several of the western states and up in Canada. I think I'd love to move to WY but just not sure how I'd handle those winters! The better half has already said no to moving! Haha. So what you say or you already living the dream!

Honeslty the west is so eye appealing but if the SO says no it won't be.

We live in Western PA and can both work wherever we want to (Medical Field).

That said Tennessee, and eastern Kentucky, Western NC are on our places.

Some places in WV are even appealing.

We had a family move up from kommiformia. Built a house and did seasonal visits. At some point the wife and kids had enough. He lasted 2-3 more years and eventually lost the family and the ranch.

Whatever dream you have make sure its one for the whole family.

Live in Tennessee and have a 2nd home out west, or anywhere and move permanently to a state without a state income tax ie Alaska, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas or Wyoming …and I’ve been here my whole 58 years in TN and we love it out West. Good luck OP.

I really do genuinely enjoy living in Wisconsin, but I’ve always been curious about North Carolina. I’m not sure what it is about that state but for some reason it’s very intriguing.

Guess it depends on if you are independently wealthy or not.


I realized a while ago that I'm pretty marketable where I am, but going to other areas I'm attracted to, guys like me are a dime a dozen.


I like to think I'm that happy medium. Could go elsewhere and have the benefit of more tags for instance, but probably either make less, or make same with a way higher cost of living.


If I had a different background, it would be a different story. Some fields of work, I think it matters very little.

Grew up in Colorado and don't really want to live anywhere else. The Western Slope has just about everything. Practically, I would move back to Rapid City SD, where I lived for a couple of years - a really great place to raise a family and nicer people than any other place I've lived. But Colorado is home and I would miss it too much if I left.
