They literally had to implement a dedicated line at all regional offices for people buying 5+ tags.
I hate the ability for someone to buy multiple tags for people but I really just dont see how making people provide a BC or ML would solve the problem and not just create a massive amount of others. Add in that the determination on a lot of this would be made by a cashier at a local sporting goods store.
Yea but those situations can occur regardless of which state one is a resident of. I like the idea too. Just curious on how it could be handled or if it would just open an entire other can of worms bigger and meaner than the current problem.

I give it less than 3 years before the crying starts for one. "We have to buy a license, we strike out, year after year, we want something for the price of that license"
Isn't it already a <10% chance of getting some of those tags with the current system?

I witnessed four guys from Ca that were buying 5 plus tags for “clients” and another Utah guide buying tags. Are they actually guiding these people I have no idea? But it seems to be.
Points are just participation trophies.
This would probably solve a lot of the online problems.
Outfitters and guides were one of the main sticking points last year. They definitely have some ears with the rural legislators. Tweaking how tags are purchased now will affect their business, as would a draw. Until that is figured out, I’d be surprised if anything gets changed.
I would say so. I've been hunting in ID since '14, back then I'd buy my tag in July when my then Resident buddy would buy his, with that being said, i haven't been able to get a tag for myself since '19, and i have been in the fray every year. My son has gotten a tag in '20 and '21, but not one since!
