A .375” barrel blank and fixed 4x scope just showed up recently so it would be hard not to take something that’s old as well as new. I may dress up like a Canadian lumberjack since moose are involved.

I'd go with my Marlin 1895 in .444. I know it's "obsolescent", but it's not obsolete and I shoot it very well, and very fast. I out a 1-4 illuminated reticle 2MOA dot on it, and it gives me the same sight picture as all my tactical rifles, so there is no time/shot confliction. It was my Dad's moose, elk, and black bear rifle and I suspect, it would be a good introduction to heaven for a crusty grizzer bear or bigfoot.

I'd use it as an excuse to buy a Ruger Alaskan Hawkeye in 375 Ruger just because, but Tikka 300 Win Mag if something I already have.

Big bears and moose: zero.

I’m not sure why you’d bring more than one, unless you want to carry a sidearm. The overwhelming majority of people who hunt moose every year go with one firearm, mostly a bolt gun chambered in something quite boring.
