Sitting in Toronto on my connection. I guess super weird. I went to US customs. Declared my firearm. She asked a few questions and sent me on my way. Didn't look at my US customs form or Canadian firearms Dec form. They said it's a new process that they just go through. Pretty nervous they aren't going to make it or I get sent back to customs but the air tags show they are on the Taramac and not in the building.....weird.

All bags made it back. Super weird US customs did not look at any of my paperwork or inspect my rifle. Guess new process. Typical air canada with a 3.5 hr delay for no reason other than scheduling issues

All meat is debone and bagged in the field. We filled out meat cutting sheets of what we wanted done with the meat and where it would be shipped to. The outfitters wife then delivers the meat to the butcher and all is taken care of.

I had mine shipped , it won't ship until dec 15 , kind of sucks .
When i go back in the future I will just buy coolers or fish boxes and send it back on the plane with me. I saw several boxes / coolers and boxed up antlers from hunters on the flight out of deer lake

I have hunted moose in Newfoundland many times. I have always driven from NY to North Sydney CA and taken the ferry across. It's actually a fun journey getting there and back. I haul a 5'x8' enclosed trailer with 12 151qt coolers. We have taken 3 moose on one trip.

3 of my friends just returned from Newfoundland last week. They chose to fly and ran into a variety of problems with the rifles/ammo between flights (I believe in Toronto). The delays were long enough that they all missed the connecting flight and had to stay in a local hotel for the night before catching another connecting flight the next day. However, they made it to camp in time for the Monday morning hunt. Their luck certainly improved when 3 guys, took 3 bulls, in the first 3 days of the hunt.

If you want a high percentage moose hunt, Newfoundland is the place to go.

Another update. Processing fee. I was just charged $729 for processing my moose from countryside abbitoir. All meat will be vacuum sealed. This will include rounds made into roasts. Sirloin into steaks. Backstraps into steaks. Tenderloins left whole. 50 lbs of various sausage (brat) flavors and the rest ground into 1lb packages. This also includes boxes for the meat and boxing of my antlers due to sending them to MN which they need to be boxes at that pickup. Shipping is looking to estimate at $1000-$1200.
