My shop says they are getting some pro defiants this week. Seems like the turbos and 34s are not in yet.

Having shot a Turbo for the last year, and a CS34 before that, I'm going back to the 34... I won't call it buyer's remorse - Love the Turbo on the range, but too aggressive for me in the field.

It seems like more than a few people, some very experienced archers, have tried and then given up the turbo versions. I am hoping the 34 will hit my shop soon.

Are you guys shooting the cam offered on the current turbo or a prior version? I understand there is a big difference in draw feel.

Me - current Turbo. The issue I have with it is two-fold. One, very short to no valley - you have to be diligent about constantly pulling and not relaxing too much or it wants to "jump". I relaxed a little too much while drawn on a small bull this year, started to roll over, flinched, he took off. This is something you can get used to, but can be an issue if you have to hold at full draw for a long time.

Also significant for me - shorter brace height while wearing a ton of clothes for late season whitetail hunting can cause clearance issues.

Like I said - not buyer's remorse but two tendencies or characteristics to be aware of. Bottom line is that the extra speed of the Turbo comes at the expense of being less forgiving than the 30 and 34.

For me - draw cycle was no issue at all.

I've got a 2016 Carbon Turbo #2cam in E slot. Not as smooth as my 2014 Spyder Turbo but the bow holds on target like no other, its super quiet and I find the wall super solid.

Harvest brown will open up your groups, buckskin is where it is at. Just like when your Kifaru pack frame, bag, and accessories match, the load feels 10# lighter.

I just ordered a Carbon Defiant 34 from my local shop in #65. Went Ridge Reaper based on the rough texture of the buckskin. The string angle is awesome compared to my Nitrum, it fits me like a glove. Seems like the valley is a little less pronounced and there is a little more holding weight than the Nitrum too. When I shot it eyeball-tuned with a Whisk Bisq I was stacking arrows at 20. Hopefully the trend continues at longer ranges! Feels good to be back with Hoyt...

Edit: My dealer called and said Hoyt had some QC issues with some early Buckskins. Too rough, kind of like rhino lining. Problem fixed apparently. I switched to Buckskin. Hope this bow will shoot and tune, reading Archery Talk threads is a bad idea for an anxious hypochondriac like me, especially when I need the #2 cam!

I agree! Matrix is my favorite look of the carbon bows

Same here.Backed out of Bowtech world and thought I would go carbon for cheap.Picked up a Matrix with rkt cams, swapped out the roller guard for a slide and shot it,light out.So I grabbed another carbon ,'15 Carbon Spyder Turbo.Shot it enough to know it is a keeper so it is out now getting ATAC's camo applied. The Hoyt carbon riser bows rock for sure, The '17' Carbon Defiant is slick looking.

Just ordered a Carbon Defiant Blackout. Shop said around six weeks for delivery. That should give me time to build a new press for it.

Anyone have any insight on the change to the #2 DFX cams? The new ones are a 2.1 and the shop I was at couldn't tell me what was different compared to last years #2 cams. Is it worth spending the money for a '17 with the 2.1 cam or do I save money and get a leftover '16 with the 2?
