Only at work because I have to. Always work phone always work logins. Otherwise I try to insulate myself as much as possible.

This is a false statement. AI isn't going to fix my doors at work or replace a broken handle set, it isn't going to fix the auto openers I work on, it isn't going to replace the faulty electronic strike on a door, it's not going to rewire a control board or run cable for me. It's isn't going to install a new camera and focus it correctly, etc. Trade jobs will always be needed. If you want to use AI, have at it but don't be surprised at how you feel living in a world that can't compose a letter, an email or conversation without assistance. So many people now can't communicate with each other. AI has its uses, but it will not replace everything. Just like computers were supposed to get rid of all the paperwork....
trade jobs will always be needed. And AI will make trade jobs more profitable. It will help determine which jobs have higher returns, it will train employees faster and cheaper, it will help develop products that need less touch, time, and maintenance. It will also help develop new products faster than tradesman will have to be constantly learning how to keep up with.

I remember an old rancher growing up saying computers can’t pull calves but I’ll be damned if good genetic analysis and data driven generic development 20 years later hasn’t reduced the number of pulls necessary.

there are multiple time horizons you have to consider when talking about any technology changing work. Depends on if you are 25 or 55

Can’t stand it. Don’t use it and I think it’s brain rot.

Guys at work can’t perform basic calculations and they take what it gives them. I’ve pointed out so many blatant wrong data it gives them but they keep using it.

The younger guys at work will use it for useless presentations we had to do. I don’t like it. Don’t trust it. Arnold and Terminator left a lasting impression on me.

I find AI detracts from my productivity more than it aids, because of how lazy it makes people.

Sure, it might assist in roughing in an email or format of a report, but then the recipients obviously use AI to summarize, and ask follow on questions that would have been answered if they had only read the original themselves. Stuff that was included in my own summary are key points, maybe even bolded and underlined that the AI didn’t include in its summary.

My responses are again summarized by AI of recipients, and the cycle repeats. It’s the worst.

The future use of AI will be as common as the use of email is today.

Learn how to use it for your application or get left behind.

For those that use ChatGPT, have a little fun with it.
Take a selfie, upload it and tell AI to age yourself 20 years.
It’s hilarious and spooky.

I did it and I look like my grandpa.

I don't really, it pops up automatically on some searches so I guess I use it occasionally by default.

My wife uses it regularly!

Every day now. I was resistant, but after using it to diagnose a vehicle problem, I was hooked. Now I don’t use normal search engines for looking anything up; any time I need to know or am curious to an answer I use Chat. It’s 1000% better than Google searching something. I use the paid model.

Use Grok too a little.
