How much meat is ethical?

Ran into a couple guys two years ago about 3 milges in we had 2 down and packing out. Told them about a big bull, well they shot it and came out with the 8x7 horns and one pack, they never came back. Seen the one guy the next season asked about the elk and meat, he said he got all the meat in the one pack. Never will tell him anything again, in my younger days I packed two hams before but a whole elk ?. Get everything you can, when I was a kid my mom would cook the bones and everything.
