How many of you own semi-auto rifles?

Don't own any and have no plans to. I don't have any interest in hunting with one and the notion that I'd ever defeat a "tyrannical" government with one is humorous, in my opinion. If that time comes, the people of this country will have the military on their side, not the other way around.

This is comical. The military is overrun with lefties that want to take away your freedom. The alphabet agencies, as we’ve seen, are complicit in staging “collusion”. They all want power. I want to be left alone. The government doesn’t want to leave me alone. They try to encroach everyday.

I believe in the 2A but,...

.22's and shotguns only. I did own a few AR's some years ago but Commiefornia has them so neutered down it took a lot of the fun away so they were sold for other stuff.

I have a few, don’t hunt with any of them. I bought them because I can and don’t like the idea of losing the ability to do so. With a seemingly ever-increasing push for gun control, I purchased them just for the sake of having them. Most I haven’t even shot yet. I’ve got an AR15, AR10, AR pistol in 300 blackout and several .22s and semi auto pistols. Will
Probably pick up a few more before a Democrat takes office and the mad rush pushes prices through the roof.

"not an alphabet boy" is exactly what an alphabet boy would say.....Just kidding. Look world history even withing the last century and you will see that governments have this little habit of subjugating their citizens and silencing anyone who speaks up. The 2nd aint about hunting.... I think Thomas Jefferson said "the best government is the one that governs the least."

Currently no semiautos or handguns...do keep a sharpened stick around in case humanity decides to come to its senses and go back to the stone age! :D

I don't have any but there might be an legal or illegal immigrant living in my home, it's a safe place after all, that could have perhaps, just maybe, built up a decent collection of fun. Now, I wouldn't say there are that many semi auto "rifles" as many are technically pistols or "firearms". Granted, I don't really know much about that since I just have a bow, musket and hatchet. Then again, I've heard you could win a war with those three things...

I took my 1st deer with a Semi Auto, gas powered, box fed AR15 in 5.56mm. why?? It was the only rifle I had.

At the time I wasn't LE but I am now. 3 questions I was always asked and also sick of .

"Is that and AR15? "
YES

"Is that even legal?"
YES

"Are you LE?"
At the time NO, now still say NO.
Doesn't matter. It's THE MOST POPULAR sporting rifle. And you dont need to know I'm a cop. I'm Off duty. I have to follow all the same laws you do.

At one time, i had 5 AR platforms and 1 AK, in addition to several semi auto .22 rifles and hand guns. A few years back one them looked at me funny. I gave that bitch away with all of her friends right after that! I just cant have that kind of evil in my house anymore.
Faaak all y'all if you don't get why that's funny. LMAO.

For the rest of you who say " I don't see the need for one of those AR15's in my arsenal" Well pray you remember that in 20 years when they deem bolt actions an "assault weapons."

In WWII M1 garands were throwing haze all over mousers slumping on the bolt action. And in Teddey's day the bolt action was the "assault weapon" vs the less advanced weapon.

"Assault weapon" as a word has been taken too far outta context. In that manner of thinking the compound should be an "assault bow." Break that shit off. Firearms "CAN" be used for hunting. BUT that is not their protected intent. THE firearm is for self defence in case of a runaway tyrannical government. END POINT.

Should you use them as a hunting tool as a way to keep your skills sharp???? F@#K YES.

Is that the only way they were intended to be used, F$#K NO!

If you can't stand behind all legal gun owners, leave your MAN CARD, at the door.

I stand behind your right to not want to own a Semi Auto rifle. That's fine. I joined a profession that proves my commitment.

If you want to have an opinion that deprives me of my right to defend your choice of inaction, simply remain silent. You don't need to quantify why your inabilities as a human mean I should give up my inalienable rights to defend you and your loved ones.

Several years ago I built an AR for my son, for his first hunting rifle. He was 10 years old and was really recoil shy, especially to my larger caliber bolt guns. In my pragmatic mind, an AR-15 carbine/ M4 platform is the perfect youth hunting rifle, when chambered in 6.8SPC or 6.5Grendel. My son has shot three deer with his now, and it’s performed great. We both get a little uneasy when the media starts talking about “assault rifles” as if they are the problem.

I own them. I hunt with almost all, save for my WW2 vintage rifles. ARs can make fantastic deer, coyote varmint rifles. I recently finished up a lightweight "AR-10" in .308 for treestand/western hunting.
Very accurate rifles, very reliable, very user friendly.
I also hunt w/ a 7400 in 243.
No complaints there either.

So you think the very idea that manifested the country you live in today (assuming US) is comical? They'll be after your shit too in no time, fudd. Now go out there and enjoy your rights that men have died for that you're willing to give up on.

I own a couple Remington hunting semi autos and one AR. The hunting guns are just what my dad always used and passed down to me. I don't ever shoot or hunt with the Remis just can't get rid of them since there the guns my dad and uncle (who has passed) hunted with. I use my bolt guns for my hunting. I bought the AR for something cheap and fun to shoot and thought I would hunt pigs with it but the pig population has dropped a lot in Tennessee over the time I bought it to now. If someone wanted it, I would let it go. If we get to a societal collapse I don't think there will be a big difference in your individual outcome if you have a bunch of bolt guns or a bunch of ARs.
