How long does bear meat last in the freezer?

Found some black bear meat in the back of the freezer from fall 2021. You think it’s worth making into summer sausage or pepperoni?

I'd eat it.

I generally go through all of my game meat within 12 months but assuming it's been consistently frozen for 3 years I can't imagine it would have gone bad.

Not bear meat, but I just had some whitetail backstrap last night from Nov 2021. Absolutely delicious. Was wrapped in plastic wrap and butcher paper.

I did plastic wrap and then butcher paper.

As long as its not freezer burned all to hell, giver. Sausage/pepperoni is an awesome way to use it up.

Freezer burned meat is still perfectly safe to eat....... although it may taste funny.
