As an admin I can’t see what you guys can see, so how do you delete your posts? What about threads you’ve started?

@Hannibal is asking me and I really don’t know.

Thanks!

For posts/responses to a thread, you can go to "edit", then "delete" on the drop down.

For original posts/created threads, you can only edit, there is no delete option

And the edit option goes away after a short period of time. I think.. Will watch here to see.

Edit: I looked back at older posts and still had the edit and delete options. So, perhaps i was just imagining that they eventually went away. Or it changed at some point?

edit2: I cannot delete posts that start a thread. I can edit the content of the post and the title of the thread.

Would really love to be able to delete your own thread! For the main reason of if you ask for info about a hunt and someone discloses too much information for everyone to see it should be up to the thread starter to remove their inquiry about an area...

The problem is deleting a thread takes away every one else's time and effort they invested into the conversation. Soon enough OP's feelings get hurt and they start taking a bunch of threads down.

You don't want to talk about it don't start the thread.

Meh not a good argument but I don’t mind the disagreement. If I give someone advice it’s between me and that person. If they delete the thread it wouldn’t mean they didn’t use the info. Pm is obviously the best way.

Every other social media platform you can delete your own post and/or individual comments.

If you edit very soon after posting the post show up like normal, if you wait a while it shows with an edited and time for that edit. If You want to delete the whole post, even if you started the thread, you just edit it and put in something else or a just put in a few periods. The op can edit the first post on a thread he started....change to what he wants or to read nothing but some periods.

Maybe most are thinking of deleting the for sale posts? Not necessarily the regular threads they may have started?

Most don't follow the rules and lock them when the item sells now so that's just wishful thinking.

I went back and looked and I can’t see how to delete a thread. I know for a fact I have deleted one in the past, maybe there was an update to the platform and it was removed. Regardless, it would be nice to be able to delete.

I, along with many others obviously, have no idea how to delete a thread. That's why there's so many sold items in the classifieds.

We used to be able to delete our own for sale post/thread once the item was sold. I don't beleive I ever remember being able to delete threads outside of the classifieds.

There's been a few posts telling people to lock the thread when it sells. You can also change the prefix to sold and it will lock it automatically.
