How bad do you think its going to get?

Well that was half an hour or so of my life I’ll never get back. @Billy Goat asked for a cliff notes version: Some folks are worried. Other folks aren’t. Some of the latter folks made the mistake of telling some of the former folks to calm down. meanwhile @Jason Snyder tried to model healthy behavior, probably to no avail but at least he’s happy. Then someone else, apropos of basically nothing, was like:

What’d I miss??

Everything is so one way or the other, and nobody can just agree to disagree, so many people are constantly spewing their hatred for "others" who don't share their opinion that how can anything/anyone ever balance out to the point that this tension/divide isn't just the norm?

Why cant people just accept the fact that other people might think differently than them and that its okay?

WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!! Probably not at the same time nor tomorrow, but WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!

That bad?

You might die. But I won't.
You found the fountain of youth? Or just planning on some pretrib rapture?

I'll pass on the first and don't believe in the second, so apparently even if true it will skip me.

I want to see Israel launch a nuke at Palestine, should solve lots of problems all at once.

That’s an incredibly disturbing mindset. Are you suggesting a nuclear weapon should land on Hind Rajab, the 5 year old girl who hid in her murdered parents’ car and was struck by 335 bullets from an Israeli tank? Or maybe on schools that have been turned into refugee camps, where 20-25 children are airstriked and reportedly being killed every single day? Or on ICU units, where doctors and patients are being bombarded as they fight just to stay alive?

Here’s a better idea: go there. See it for yourself. Talk to the families. Witness the conditions. Listen to the stories that rarely make headlines, the stories of Palestinians who’ve lived on their own land for generations and have been struggling to survive under occupation for the past 77 years and counting.

If you can’t travel, watch films like The Settlers (2025) and No Other Land. And when you have a moment, reflect on this powerful quote once displayed by Holocaust survivors:
“The Germans destroyed our families and homes, don’t you destroy our hopes.”

I truly hope no human being regardless of background, religion, or ethnicity ever has to experience this kind of suffering.

Peace

It's a screwed up situation and has been for a long time. It's one of the most densely populated areas on earth, that had a super high unemployment rate and has depended on food aid even before this latest conflict. Since they elected Hamas in 2006 it's only made things worse on themselves. It is kind of telling that most Arab countries won't accept more Palestinian refugees.

Son of Hamas is a great book. If you haven't read it, you should. Both sides are at fault, but one side deliberately targets the innocent, the other side tries everything they can to avoid killing the innocent. Maybe if Hamas would stop setting up in schools and hospitals using human shields, not as many innocent people would die. The thing is, the more women and children that are killed, the more support Hamas gets. They want them to be killed so they can parade around with the broken bodies of little children.

I agree, It's one vicious cycle, but without a doubt the hatred of Israel by most of the Arab states has been going on for many, many years. Antisemitism is even wide spread it the USA. I wonder why it's okay for the left to be anti-semitic? I mean, just look at the universities these days.
