Hornady Bore Driver Eld-X Range Report

Nice! I got my bull 5 years ago with my bow and then for whatever reason I couldn't stop laughing. My buddy walks up and I said "I just shot a moose........a moose". Just thought it was funny. Congratulations!

Ya, I got my moose and sheep that same year. Then this year I drew my archery Mt goat tag and ended up turning it in. I've got a torn labrum in my right hip that's giving me fits. I'm not even sure I'm going to make it out for elk this year.
My face says it all. I was solo and I was super psyched but I knew what was ahead. Thankfully I’ve had worse elk pack outs. Bummer about the hip. Hopefully a quick recovery on that hip?

Congrats on the moose. Thanks for the info on the bore driver. If anybody has any more performance posts on this bullet, keep em coming.

Super excited that I was able to crack one off on a bull yesterday. 40-50 yard shot broad side, hit behind the shoulder blade, did hit a rib it completely liquified the lungs, massive damage, bull went about 20 yards and piled up right in front of me, no exit hole but was finding bone fragments in the offside hide. Bullet seemed to work well

Shot a little mule deer about 50ish yards earlier this week. Exit hole the size of a quarter, and jacket stripped and part hung in the offside shoulder. That shoulder was like 60% bloodshot or more.

I shot a young 6 pt whitetail last season at 50 yards, MV was about 1750 FPS with 77gr weight of BH209.

Heart shot went about 20 yards.

I got to see this bullet in action on four deer (5 shots) this past weekend. Results have been similar to many. If I had to sum it up, the bullet expands rapidly and can* have good penetration.
*My word of caution though would be to stay away from the scapula & humerus.

On two does, one at 100y the other at 40-50, shots were in the ribs between the shoulder and diaphragm. Expansion was immediate, destroyed the vitals, and exited on the offside. Very desirable performance. In the pic below, entrance is on the left.

Here is a buck that got shot twice. The first shot, 200y, was high in the shoulder and the bullet exploded on the scapula and stopped in the back-strap. The recovered bullet and jacket weighed ~219 grains. The second shot, 100y quartering away, entered in the left rear rib cage and exited in front of the right shoulder and stopped on the offside hide. The recovered bullet was ~200grains. Penetration varies significantly depending on what bullet hits at initial impact.

Fourth deer, doe @ ~100y, was another high shoulder shot. She dropped at the impact then ran off with no recovery.
