Vapor trail victor vs Hamskea R7

Has anyone has any time with the vapor trail victor and the Hamskea r7 looking for opinions good and bad, problems with either rest or fitment issues, going to put one of them on a Darton sequel 33

They both look like phenomenal rests. I couldn’t bring myself to dropping that much coin on one though. Found a used epsilon for 1/3 the cost.

I have an Epsilon on my backup bow and put an R7 on the new primary bow. Buddy has an Epsilon on his primary bow and a ripcord code red on his backup.


I really like the Epsilon. The R7 has nice updates but isn't materially different from the Epsilon in performance in my opinion. I'm not unhappy with the R7 at all. I'd have a Hamskea rest on my bow and it would be an Epsilon or an R7. I wouldn't spend more just to get the R7 though if I could find a cheaper Epsilon. The R7 is just easier to get to the adjustment screws basically. Other than that, it is mostly an Epsilon that had the price raised.

Both are good rests and will serve you well. I used the victor on my lift x last year and installed an r7 on my ARC for this season.

The victor is louder due to some contact points that they will hopefully address. I covered them with felt and it solved the issue. The blade screws getting surface rust is a bad look but doesnt affect function in any way. They are both easy to set up and very solid with good adjustment access.

IMO the r7 is a more polished product overall and doesnt need a V2 to fix minor issues that didnt get found during R and D. I was super excited for the victor last year having been impressed with the vapor trails simplicity in the gen 7 and liking the g8 minus the fit not being perfect on the integrate. The victor missed the market window pretty bad last year imo and could have dominated if the rest had been available 6 months earlier with a couple minor improvements.

The mounting system of the r7 improves on the design of the epsilon and is cleaner. And you dont have the risk of extra screws coming loose on the universal mounts if no loctite applied during install.
