Hey lefties: ping me if interested in our Tikka builds

I’m a lefty with 0 lefty rifles and in the market for probably two rifles over the next 1-3 years. I would definitely take a hard look at what you guys offer. Though honestly it’s more likely that I would just start with a factory 6.5cm and .223 rifle.

i feel like there are enough of us that if you had LH tikka-derived rok-flavored rifle, you'd sell them. tikka seems to take 2-3 years to bring a LH offering to market after they make the RH version available. and if tikka's years out from 6mm goodness, it means another 5-10 for us southpaws....

that said, i am completely not in the market for yet another tikka
nor have i been for the past few years
but somehow i keep finding new tikkas in my collection
i should consult my doctor or something.

A stainless barreled-action in a cartridge from this century ought to do well for lefties. Most of us have enough 308s, 7RMs, 30-06 and 6.5CMs already. I would think the LH crowd would want 6CM, 6.8W, 6.5PRC, 7PRC, 7BC, etc. all ready to go at less $ than a proper custom, but a step up from just another Savage rifle. On this board, I'd say lightweight would also be on the checklist.

Personally, a 7BC or 7PRC with a svelte 18" threaded tube would get me excited, and probably I'd lean toward just a complete barreled action as opposed to stocked.

I think you're onto something here. I'm right handed but shoot lefty because of an eye disease issue in my right eye. My last three rifles have been off custom actions so I can get a left handed rifle and put the parts on it I want.

If you continue to do the barrel group buys, adding some left handed actions and stocks might be a good stepping stone for you instead of stocking factory left handed rifles.

I would be interested in 1-3 over the next few years. My son and I are left handed and he will inherit all of my collection. I’m slowly trading out the right handed rifles and shotguns we got from my father, keeping only those with significant sentimental value. Tikka doesn’t have a factory lefty 280 Ackley offering. I’m also not a fan of the cerakote colors (or most of the caliber options) on the Lite camo factory rifles.

I should also mention that your post inspired me to register here after lurking here for quite some time.

I think this is a great idea. I keep toying around with getting another rifle. Havent convinced myself to do it yet. But there is a market for this for sure.

My frustration as a left handed rifle hunter has been slim pickings and chronic disappointment of the best new developments never being offered in left hand. Either a company won’t invest in the tooling to make a left handed version or they can’t keep up with demand just for right handed shooters.

I say this not to complain, but for your insight. I don’t see a need to sink a lot of your capital into building up available stock; rather, I think taking orders with requested chamber and barrel configurations would be very popular and people would be happy to wait a couple of months to get exactly what that want.

There is also a market for shortened and threaded factory barrels too. I had one done for the price of a tax stamp and I bet a lot of folks would be happy to do that on their old tikkas if there were a well known and straight forward process to get it done.

Not only do I suffer from being left-handed, I live in California. I'd be game for something that allows me to push copper very fast while accommodating the reason my parent's should have drowned me. Also with minimal recoil and not stupid overbore so I can shoot it a ton.

? Lone Peak, BAT, Defiance, Impact Precision etc, etc all make left handed actions. MPA, XLR, Manners etc all have lefty chassis and stocks. It's not difficult to put a great left handed rifle together.

^^^^ This… I gave up years ago waiting for what I wanted left handed and took the dive into full and semi customs and couldn’t be happier, buy once cry once…

Welcome!

PM me, if you are ready to buy one. I can talk details. I will order the Tikka and build one in 6 creed or 22 creed with the barrels I have.

I could probably even do one in .223.

100% you can build great guns these days.

Having gone that route and the semi custom factory, there is a significant difference in cost but not precision. With Tikka, they really are as nice as customs. My Savage with prefits shot amazing, but lacked appeal. Not the Tikka though.

Our Tikka with new barrel should be about $1400, which gets you an action and trigger in the custom world. At most you can also get the bottom metal and a mag.

If you want a 6.5, you will regret not looking at Eurooptic right now, no retail price this low.

I may be mistaken, I was under the impression the OP is offering a turnkey option.

I'm all for it, but to be forthright I must admit I'm losing interest in handed guns. Ambi is the future.
