LS Wild Armory: any interest in Semi Custom Tikkas?

Thinking more about this last night, another possibility would be to go with the lightest/shortest/softest recoiling cartridge I can. So say a 16" 6CM down-loaded to just barely hit a 6mph wind number. A berger 108 EH at 2550 is a 6mph gun and carries 2000fps to 400yds. My motivation here would be to accomodate my young kids and nieces/nephews who might want to get into shooting/hunting in the next few years, as well as to give myself a barebones lightweight option for hunts where I know shots will be short range.

Also could go 6x45/ARC/BR/GT/Dasher but those present their own complications with bolt faces, mags, and feeding reliability. Plus if I stay 6CM I can juice it up in the future if I desire.

So maybe the answer to "what goes well with a 6CM?" is "ANOTHER 6CM"!

Yeah baby!

I have a short 22 BR in a Howa Mini action with mods. The 6 ARC fits that bill nicely as well in a different action.

But, a short barreled 6 creed in a Tikka is sweet and loaded down will be good. And, I happen to have a few 16” 6 creed ready to go.

If you go short, then there is a benefit to dropping weight and adding back in more velocity.

Look at the 90 gr ELDx and 95 grain Berger VLDh because velocity trumps BC inside 500.

Can you share the specs of the barrels you have on hand? Sorry if this stuff is already in another thread, I've kind of lost track of all the various pre-orders/orders/builds you are doing (compliments!).

Me too!!! It’s been crazy. I am putting together a list and getting them on the website this week. Priority has been shipping orders we have.

I have sent out the first couple of rifles and barrels torqued onto actions.

Just did one with AZ Gator at the range, a 16” 6 Creed. He shot this 8 shot group. The first one after torquing on always is a flyer.

Here is an 18” 22 Creedmoor barreled action that I just torqued on. First 10 shots out of a new barrel. The two flyers are the first two shots.

That will do…

And here is a test group after switching around the shop rifle that has about 150 rounds. I shot it with @Bluumoon competition with about 40 rounds on it to zero and get velocity the day before.

Need to zero it now. 18” 22 Creedmoor.

And here is a stainless lefty 18” 22 Creedmoor I put together to test 5 shots.

I am always swapping the scope around. So I rarely zero these.
