This will be topping a Kimber Subalpine in .30-06. Will mainly use for Mule Deer, occasionally elk.

I think I would be happy with any of these, but wanted to get thoughts on the best value with the prices I can currently find.

Leupold VX3i 2.5-8x36 - $359
Leupold VX3i 3.5-10x40 - $299
Vortex Razor HD Lightweight Hunter 2-10X40 - $480
Swaro Z3 3-9x46 - $699
Other suggestions?

SWFA makes a lightweight scope. There is one for sale in the classifieds. I've always had good luck with the Zeiss scopes. If you could find a used HD5 I would snag it if I were you.

What is everyone thoughts on having an easily adjustable turret? i.e. the CDS or the Ballistic Turret vs. a capped turret system?

The Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 was my choice for my Barrett Fieldcraft. 20oz well spent.

You can pick up a Zeiss Z4 Demo for the same price as the Swaro and get some dials via rebate.

Been using the VX3i 3.5-10 CDS on 2 rifles for about 5 years. So far so good but I often wish I had a touch more zoom to smaller animals.
