If you want just red, or just white, without both: Huge fan of Zebralight. I use the H502W and H502R if I remember for my AA lights, and have an 18650 headlamp and an 18650 flashlight.

All have multiple brightness settings from very dim, to very bright.

But, they're all just one bulb.

But it doesn't offer other colored lights, just white right? We sometimes use different colors for relaying messages to one another.
This is true and kinda irritating, they do now offer colored lenses that you can put over the light that work great but i havent used em much yet. They feel really secure once on there but i feel like i might lose it somehow eventually. The mh11 has blue and red in the light but i hate how you can only change color through their app. Very annoying in the field to use. Mh11 is too high tech for me lol.
Just thought id recommend you that light cause its the only one I know of with an actual dial on the back for brightness and it can use AAA's. Great little light over all ive had mine for like 5 years, usb charging port wore out last year and they sent me a brand new one, so i have 2 of their rechargeable batteries now(score!)

Back to stage one. (((sigh))) My biggest issue is I had one for decades that I used when hunting, fishing and it fell into the Pacific. Multiple colors, adjustable intensity, replaceable batteries...it was perfect.

This is looking like a possibility. 18650 Replaceable battery, white and red lights, dimmable.

Wish it was AA because 18650 is too big / heavy a lot of the time. Although they're awesome when you need the extra power, runtime, and brightness for things like breaking down an animal in the dark.

I’ve used a bunch over the years. All being 4 AA battery packs at the rear of the headband. I’m not a fan of the soft push dimming buttons. I’m using a Fenix HP15UE the last couple years. It has a single hard push button to turn on and off, dim and brighten. When turned back on it goes right back to the last setting used. It has another button for a 30 second blast of light that I never use.

I just bought an Nitecore NU32. It has both red and white lights, weighs 3.5 oz, rechargeable and has really long run times.
