Gunpowder Analysis 7mm PRC

Not trolling you fucktard. Did I once mention USING Re26? I said it was unobtanium. I also in an earlier post offered several alternatives that are COMMONLY listed as excellent powders for the cartridge. But you’re an obtuse dumb **** that has no reading comprehension. So have fun ordnance officer.

Feeling is mutual. See ya.

Let's get back to the topic.

I have used N565, Staball HD and Magpro for 175gr. I have a 22" Proof barrel. Magpro was faster, but Staball HD shot smaller. N565 shot even faster and even smaller, so that's my powder for 175 lead-cores for my particular rifle. I wouldn't shy away from the new ball powders. Staball HD has been surprising temp stable and accurate for me. I've shot it at near sea level and at 11,000ft. from summer to winter. I haven't loaded enough Magpro to confirm as much, but so far so good.

For copper solids in the 160gr range, I found slightly faster powders like IMR7828sc and H4381ssc will give me a good velocity, a complete burn and outstanding accuracy. I may even try some leftover Norma MRP I have when I load the PVA Cayuga 151s I'm getting on Saturday. That was my go-to powder (7828sc was #2) for the 340 Weatherby with 250gr, but it has unfortunately gone the way of Re26 too.

I have had amazing results with N570 and LRT. N570 is rough on throats, but you should be fine if you don't do high volumes of shooting. I've been running 73.3 grains of N570 behind the 175 grain Berger Elite Hunter, Nosler ABLR, and Barnes TSX. The ABLR and TSX run 3050'ish and the Elite Hunter is between 3020-3030 fps. I took the 175 TSX to South Africa and it performed really well. I'm shooting the CVA Cascade with a 24" barrel.

Is there a source saying the 570 is hard on throats? I've read it several times on forums but would love to learn more about that...

Others have made the same comments on about N570 on other forums. I just know from personal experience with my 28 Nosler. I was running 82 grains of N570 behind the Berger 180 VLD. Last year, a COL of 3.60" was .037" off the lands. Now, that same COL is .112" off the lands. That's after 650'ish rounds. I had to order a new barrel.

H1000 or Magnum will be your best bets maybe even Retumbo. RL26 is non existent. I use H1000 in just about all my rifles I shoot. This winter if I shoot out all the Superformance for the 243, im going to load that with H1000. I have heard great results H1000 and 243. I have a 6.5 PRC and 3 others in my family. We all use H1000. 7PRC should be no different. If you not set on bullets yet, I would try Nosler Accubond/Nosler Accubond Long /Berger VLD. Sometimes it also takes a couple powders to find a good load for your bullet so if you get bad results for it go just try another powder. Good luck.
