So it’s great that anti hunting activists serve on the BHA state boards.
Does your anti hunting mom serve on the BHA board of directors and work with politicians to shut down hunting seasons?
Nice try to deflect
Amazing
Since you asked a question I will reply, however, you have already misquoted me in only one reply.
I described my mom as someone that would not be described as pro hunting, not “anti-hunting”. There was a time when you could have used the label of anti hunter when describing her.
BUT, after many discussions, over many years, and open dialogue, I am very pleased to say that she actually tolerates the sport of hunting. That support is not unequivocal though and requires lots of maintenance. I need to continue to show her that fair chase is exactly that. Through example, and sharing my experiences in the field, she has come to see hunting as more than just men driving around in trucks, shooting out the window at anything that is brown. She actually asks me how my hunting trips went with true interest in hearing about them.
She does not serve on a BHA board, nor has she worked with local politicians to shut down hunting seasons. She surely could have been the latter, though never the former, as she would have never been a member, let alone served on a board, of an organization associated with anything hunting. The change of her thought process is due to the efforts of a couple hunters. It doesn’t hurt that one is her son either.
Had we never shared our experiences with her I have no doubt that she would have continued to have been exactly what you said she was.
I am sorry that you perceived my initial post as an effort to deflect. I understand that it is incumbent upon the person delivering the message to deliver it in a manner that the person who is receiving it will perceive it in the manner intended by the one giving the message.
It is not that far fetched to use my experience with my mom as a parable of sorts and relate it to any plethora of scenarios that would involve “anti-hunters” and hunters, perceived or real.
