I do the same and put them in chili or use the meat for fajitas. In the crock pot, debone, shred the meat, and add bbq sauce
My neighbor and best friend gave me a mess of very fresh, cleaned, dressed and quartered squirrels ! About a pound and a half! He said roll them in a flower, pepper mixture and cook them on medium to low in butter! It tasted great! Don’t know what kind of squirrels they were! C don’t think they were gray squirrelsI've been seeing alot of grey squirrels around lately wondering how they might taste. Anyone have experience or recipes ?
I recently stumbled across a Brunswick Stew recipe that is very similar to this. Delicious, even the wife loves it!I shot many back in WI and MO. My favorite was to braise them in some stock for a couple hours, debone and break up the meat and make a stew out of them. Potatoes, carrots, onions, a bit of garlic and some spices. Yum.
