To start, I am a morel hunting newbie that has yet to find any actual morels. Just found this in the yard today (6,000 ft and there are narrowleaf cottonwoods nearby) but both people I know who have at least some experience with morels say this is likely not a morel. I looked up false morels and this doesn't look like those either. Can anyone help identify?View attachment 196210 View attachment 196208
Thanks for the ID. To me those look more like morels than false morels do. Glad I didn't smell it.You are correct, not a Morel.
That would be a Phallaceae, otherwise known as a Stinkhorn
