Newest Model Toyota Sequoia

Dollars aren't equally valuable for all of us. Getting where I'm going and home again with no drama is worth a lot to me
Well that's just the thing. The new cars are more likely to crap out and give you drama. I personally know of a 3G Tundra owner who had a hunting trip ruined by an electrical issue (wouldn't start) AFTER his recall covered motor replacement. Truck towed to nearest dealer, 200 miles from his house. Had to fly home. No loaner. Had to fly back 3 weeks later to get his truck. Little to no work was done, just sat there, then they couldn't reproduce the issue, replaced one small thing, gave it back to him.

Does that sound like no drama to you?

In 10 years and 120k of HARD ownership (dirtbikes, desert, mountains, towing and launching boats in saltwater, moving, dump runs, camping, dogs, kids, etc, etc) my 1G Tundra NEVER failed me. Never failed to start, never failed to get me to and from my destination, never failed to pull a load. Never had an expensive unexpected bill. Just a few hundred a year in preventative maintenance that was trivial to do myself.

I hear you. I personally would pay an ultra premium for a rock solid rig that would stay out of the shop for the long term (aside from regular maintenance). I am not sure that's an option these days - there are not any rock solid reliable options on the new market right now... or at least not as far as I can tell.

I have shopped around for extended warranties on both GM and Toyotas. I am not sure if extended warranty correlates with how good the vehicle will perform long term, but gucci Toyota extended warranties are significantly cheaper than anything else I have seen.

Gms with the 5.3 are going to get you 70k drama free pretty consistently. Then onto the next one.

You can get a 10 year cheap from a couple guys. Geniune Toyota / Lexus factory warranty. I got one for my gx550 for a 1/4 of the cost of what the Lexus dealer offered. Same exact warranty as well.

I had my old f150 do the same thing as well as my 23 ram.

I love my 19 tundra.
