You all want to read a weird online purchase, go look up my gray ghost gear tale in the business “good or bad” thread.
You all buying these razor type knives, why just not pick up a few of those orange handle ones with the blades that snap off? They are like a buck, at harbor freight, HD, Lowe’s, the local hardware store. Seems like it would to the same thing.

Is it OK that I was on the side of the company when this first popped up, now with more information coming to light I'm ready to get my pitchfork out?
I'm certainly not on the company's side, but I still feel 2 weeks and trying to do a charge back is jumping the gun, so I hold to my original posts (based on memory, I've not gone back and reread them).

Even with Survive Knives, when I learned more about them, I gave them 2 weeks pasted the estimated ship date (3.5 months and multiple unanswered emails) before contacting the card company.

Not supporting or buying products from companies that choose to sponsor MF is not cancel culture. It is called capitalism and being able to make a choice as a consumer.
Cancel culture is capitalism and free society deciding not to support something.

When people don't like the lack of support and disagree with the reason, they call it cancel culture rather than taking the time to articulate a position.

Cancel culture is a lazy lable used to attack the free choices of others. That is true regardless of how stupid I think the basis for those choices are.

This whole when my side does it, it is good, but when the other side does it we get mad and call it x is old. So let's just call everything that is x, x and realize the label is worthless from the start.

This thread just got brought my attention. If anyone has placed an order and didn’t recieve your product please reach out to me directly and I’ll get it squared away immediately. My job is design and production as one of 2 owners. My partner is in charge of the orders and customer service so I don’t get to see what’s going on with that end of the business. Sorry for any issues this may have caused. We have absolutely zero intention of trying to take any customers hard earned money and not giving them the product they deserve. Please reach out if you have any issues.
All the best , Travis
Ah yes, the tried and true "two non-communicating owners, radio silent, taking payment but not fulfilling orders or responding to customer inquires, for a product with abundant alternatives" business model. In the time between when I ordered and you wrote this I actually knapped one from flint so I'm good thanks.

I have to imagine companies that work with MF in a capacity like this would like to keep it quiet for obvious reasons. I am happy this post made us aware.

Going to make one final post in hopes for a response from @truearrow7, who is apparently Travis Nowotny. The community would really like to understand the situation more clearly.

It has been posted that you said you are in Idaho but the warehouse is in Utah. You said that you're "ahead" of production and have no idea what happens at the warehouse...if all your products are sold out/out of stock wouldn't production need to know about that? You then told them to contact Erik and gave his phone number. The phone number that you gave is linked to Erik D Van Woerkom of Muley Freak.

Is your story that your business partner is Muley Freak and he is dropping the ball?

Sheesh it seems as if this has happened to more than just the OP, and has been going on for months now. Some guy with the handle muleyfreak_erik says its 🔥 though so we must trust that all is good and knives should still be ordered.
You can take Erik Van Woerkom’s word to the bank, unimpeachable character and reputation.

Do you guys recall the discussion about that Optics and Ammo scam company?

That guy actually went to jail.

I don’t think these Ghost Knives guys are going to get put away, but the lackadaisical way they run their business is ridiculous.

The guy who started that Optics and Ammo discussion worked with his local police department’s financial crime unit and also the state Attorney General.

I would advise that anyone gypped by Ghost knives do the same because Ghost Knives certainly seems to be unable to provide an explanation of what’s actually going on. Furthermore, anyone or any company that thinks it’s a good idea to hitch their wagon to a star like MF is probably incapable of actually running a business.

No time to read this entire thread, but I get a sense that the OP has never started/run a small business. Certainly a lack of flexibility or understanding that is often "helpful" when dealing with garage businesses/small businesses.

My thoughts:
  1. **OP- Maybe the best outcome here is for TiGOAT to send you your money back. Maybe you're not the right client fit for them.
    1. Then you can risk your own capital, start your own garage business to design, manufacture niche products and try to juggle all the balls...
  2. If TiGOAT is a small, 1-man or 4-man operation then the work is NEVER done before going on a holiday or hunt.
  3. TiGOAT may be side gig for someone with a demanding F/T job and he may be swamped.
  4. If hunting season was in or almost in, before OP placed his order (and all the other folks placing last minute hunt orders), then TiGOAT staff may be out in the field and I would hope that ALL of us have enough flexibility and maturity in our mindset that we can accept this. Including a lack of prompt communication.
  5. It seems that TiGOAT has been around for years and I have not read anything that slams their quality, so be happy that their goods are still available.
  6. I have never been disappointed by the quality of gear bought from garage businesses. They all had pride in their top notch offerings, even though many of them never made it for the long term.
Best,
JL
That's a very cute sermon - TiGOAT isn't the company in question here. You could have deduced that from just reading the OP, or even the thread title. The actual company being discussed - GOAT Knives - appears not to be one that I would deal with. Appreciate the heads-up @grainhog - hopefully you get your money back!

Reached out directly to truearrow7 through Rokslide per his post. He contacted me, was straight up with no BS, and got me some contact info that I will not be posting because I refuse to stir the pot. If you want it, try to PM him. Used the info to send less than cordial message. Within about 24 hours a "pending transaction" notice showed up online for my debit card. If/when the $ shows up I'll update.

The google machine tells me the company is "administratively dissolved" and the 2 members of the company are named Erik and Travis.

Stir the pot? So anyone who sees this thread will get their money back (if they follow your explicit instructions) but as we have learned this if far more wide reaching than the few who read this. I guess they just are out of luck?

I simply shared what my specific experience was, whether or not it's same for everyone else isn't under my control. Any business decisions he made are his burden to bear (and I believe he's trying) and me blasting out info he gave me in private I consider just that, private.
