Glacier NP/Kalispell Weather?

Heading to Glacier National Park / Kalispell area middle August and wanting to gauge what the weather is like now, for packing and possible clothing purchases. Read some of the park roads don't get cleared of snow until June July!?

Anybody in the area? We are staying at some small cabin park around Kalispell. Maybe grab dinner and a drink or 3

I'll never understand why people come here in August.

It'll be hot as hell and you mostly likely won't be able to see your own hand from the wdfire smoke.

Right now? Is been raining on and off and it's sticking as snow up above 6,000'. August depends on the year. Definitely hot and likely smokey. Getting in the rivers will be nice but low chance of catching many views.

Great advice posted already. As said, weather can be variable. Just keep checking the forecast and use that for a baseline of what you need, but always pack some warm gear just in case.

Hot is relative...lol. I'd like to make another trip up there at some point. It's been a long time. Tulsa is HOT!!!

I would plan for sunny and 90 with smoke, or 40-50 and rain. Could happen in the same week. Going to the Sun Road normally get s cleared late June/ early July, but with less snow this year it could be a little earlier. Should be good by August. Feel free to reach out for food suggestions. Your location says WV so I might make you trade some pepperoni rolls for info haha
