Getting older has perks…

I submitted my Colorado applications for deer and elk today. Of those who know you have to first purchase a small game license and habitat stamp. I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t locate an option for adding said stamp? So I call.. first thing the nice gal asked was my age. Turns out now that I’m sixty six I no longer am required to purchase one. Older dudes do rule!

Yeah, I found out last year that if one is over 65 and and lived in Wyo. more than 25 years, they give us a Pioneer License, which is good for birds, small game and fishing. It's lifetime and free!!

My OR combo hunt/fish license is $6 now. Points never go below 1. Tags are less money too.

I dont know, Im 41 and in the best shape of my life, and I was in pretty good shape in my early 20s.

I dont recover nearly as well from injury and hard strain, and putting on muscle requires more effort, but I am also a lot more disciplined than I was back then. If I had put in the effort then that I do know I would have been jacked, but its still not that hard now.

Being in better shape and having income 10x what it was when I was 25 is making my outlook on my 40s pretty positive.

Yeah, like having enough money and time to buy just about anything you might want and go about anywhere you might want to go....and not having to drain the bank account or finance it.

In 2 years, at age 65, my hunting, fishing license and all my tags are free (even sheep and grizzly).

Turned 67 this past year and was finally able to retire, I used to work 50+ hrs a week and typically sleep 5 or 6hrs a night during the week. When hunting season started I'd generally drive up Friday night so I could to get up at dark thirty and hunt the weekend. Leaves a guy pretty ragged.
Now I can leave Monday or whenever is convenient and stay as long as I want with about 10% of the hunters that are there on the weekends. Loving it!

Once a resident turns 60 in Alaska, we can get a lifetime hunting/fishing/trapping license. I was at the local ADFG office the very next day after my birthday that year!

I agree...it's a good thing to have, and it's an easily transportable card that came with a rearview mirror hanger. We even take ours with us when we fly to Hawaii. There are some discount restrictions that may apply at some locations, but still definitely worth it for us.

...I think ours was also a bit cheaper when we got it years ago.
