Gas can rant…

No good deed goes unpunished!!!! I drained the gas out of my rzr and went to fill it with ethanol free gas for the winter. As I put the nozzle into the fill hole it slipped in all the way. When I pulled it out the little black plastic clip popped off inside my gas tank. I’m an hour into trying to get it out.

I filled the entire tank hoping it would float to the full hole…nope.


Then I pulled the fuel pump hoping it would float to the bigger hole in the middle of the tank…nope.

Now I’m siphoning all the gas and hoping I can reach my Arm in there and feel around for it.

Next idea is to fill it with tannerite and blow it up.

CURSE THE MAN THAT CAME UP WITH THESE NEW GAS CANS!!!!

I went and bought a new can to add diesel to my pickup a few months ago. The Frankencap on that thing wouldn’t even allow me to get the angle to pour it in. I had a full on tantrum about that.

Every time I use one of the CARB compliant gas cans I spill more gas than I ever did with the old ones. Hard to use. They're aggravating.

Someone's gotta make an aftermarket replacement spout...just market it weird, like the solvent trap things.

ETA: Amazon sells simple replacement spouts pretty damn cheap.

I just cut/break those black 'valve's out of the nozzle.

That right there is the reason I never pour directly from the can. I put large funnel in fill spout and pour gas into that.

I haven't owned anything other than these for probably 10yrs, red for the Ranger and Buck, yellow for the tractor, green for mixed fuel and orange for ethanol free. You can even get a cheap AA battery powered pump so no lifting them up to fuel tractor

That right there is the reason I never pour directly from the can. I put large funnel in fill spout and pour gas into that.

The funnel doesn’t work with this type because you have to push the nozzle back into itself to release the gas. If that makes sense.
