I do occasionally, but generally get in trouble for straying from the canned questions from HR that everyone and their brother has a prepped answer for. Waste of my time.

Yup. 100%. I’ve been on several hiring committees, I came to realize that they don’t want my opinion, they just want me to agree on the same candidate as them. Now I don’t waste my time.

Screw the savings to me. Let’s look at the tax payer savings.

We are building a new HR/Admin building. Bids aren’t back yet, but the last building we built similar in specs was a clean 27 million. That doesn’t include the on going maintenance costs and energy costs. We are strapped on maintenance personnel, and are looking at hiring a couple more due to three new buildings going up. Just got notification that energy prices are increasing 13% starting July 1.

That entire building will be housing people that could work 100% from home. I can’t remember the exact number but I think it’s about 100 people.

Edit to add. You could give all 100 employees an extra 2500 a year to offset the cost of a home office and the break even point on just the initial cost of the building is 108 years. At year 108, we will be looking at knocking that building down and rebuilding for the second time.

Do you want me to go into the new parking terrace that is being built so we have enough parking? Or the land that is looking at be purchased to continue building because we are running out of space?

I see the government inefficiency 40 hours a week. I am all for holding people accountable. Many in my office, including our director are completely worthless. But let’s not pretend like making people come into an office will suddenly change anything. I work 100% in the office, it’s the same thing that people complain about with remote employees.

I get it. My wife is a fed employee. Has worked predominantly in the office (or in the field depending on season). Main exception has been meetings that many people from her office need to attend. Her and others that live close go home because the office internet can’t support very many people on video meetings at once. Now there will be a few more people in the office full time (though sounds like a few will quit and not be replaced). She works with some serious dead weight, but I’ll be pretty surprised if those people actually get weeded out. They have the most to lose, since finding a job in the private sector will require some effort. I have my doubts she’ll stay where she’s at for this shit show. She won’t take the BS “buyout”, but might find something else when everything shuts down in March or whenever the next CR is due. I’d be shocked if there isn’t a prolonged shutdown.

tell all of your cats you love them and everything will be alright.

grab the remote and turn off CNN.

now go outside and go get a hike in…

I promise it will help…
After reading his posts I hope comcast kicks me off this site again like they did last week. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

We are facing cuts at the State level. I really hope they offer some early retirement options as there are a few in my office that would take it and it would be nice to get them out.

Unfortunately, my boss is about 2-3 years from being able to contemplate early retirement and he is probably the biggest chunk of dead weight we have.

“The view” statements just so how well some people have been programmed to think of anyone with any sort of a nuanced viewpoint as something wildly different from themselves.

😂 There is a difference between ranting and pointing at something that’s happening and asking people to be informed about what is going on in their country. Nothing I’ve said has been shown to be false, nor has anyone mounted a real defense of what’s happening.

I know what's happening, someone's been drinking a bit. Oh wait, pot's legal there too now. Your posts are incomprehensible.
We’ll revisit this thread in 6-9 months. My take of events regarding OPM coming through on payment, the wisdom of allowing Elon’s cronies access, and the tariff’s effects on the economy I'm willing to bet are going to be a lot more comprehensible to y’all then.

If you do not think it has to get a worse to get better you have swalloed the wrong pill. You are taking a massive out of control government and rebuilding it. I am fully prepared to have some difficult times ahead to have at least a positoive vision for the future.

You are wrong but I promised myself not argue with utopians on the internet. Your take on inflation is very much skewed if you use the govts calculations because food and energy were removed.

But on a positive note I agree we should came back in 9 months and revisit all of your rants.

I find it interesting that so many people are convinced Trump cares so much about efficiency. Why would he care when the laws and economics of middle class families don’t apply to him? He’s not the charitable type. His talk is cheap.

Folks are very quick to make excuses for everything he brags about when it isnt actually working. We have 4 years in office to judge him by. So far he said Ukrainian war would stop day one of his presidency. Where’s the outrage? Oh that’s right, everyone knows he’s full of crap. He said food prices would drop right away and is doing things that increase food prices. Where’s the outrage? Silence. He’s implementing nationwide sales tax in the form of tariffs and where are the low tax Republicans? Silent.

This won’t take long before his favorability ratings are down to where they were at the end of his last presidency. Don’t people remember? They choose to forget.

I don’t post much but enjoy this forum as opposed to others I have left due to the rabid political discourse. They just became sites I did not care to be associated with.

So I will not get into the politics underlying this discussion but trust me I do have strong views about it. That being said any federal employee who accepts the promises made in the memo at face value and expects OPM to follow through on them is making a serious mistake. OPM is a shit show now and will be for the foreseeable future.

For the folks that are can’t understand why there is anger and distrust with the Fork email, you simply need to look at past history. Put yourself in the shoes of a federal employee facing dismissal. There isn’t a good severance deal offered nor that can be trusted to be paid out.

Further, you must qualify for the early retirement. Most don’t.

I think this was designed to capture the entire audience. I have hr staff working from all over the place and the response tine has gone from a few hours to several days. I think there's been a lot of cheating going on.
I have a friend who works for the Feds (EPA) and he told me that a while back that employees were being encouraged to "rat" on fellow workers who were known to be cheating on their time in the office. Seems that a lot of the teleworkers who were supposed to be going into the office a certain number of days per week were not doing so. So, it seems even internal management knew that the teleworking was a problem.

Nothing you have said has been proven false because it can't be. The only one who is claiming they can predict what will happen 6-9 months from now is you. The majority of voters voted to shut down the border, cut the size of the federal government, get men out of women's sports, no tampons needed in boys bathrooms, boys are boys and girls are girls, stay out of other people's wars, etc.

Now go cuddle up with your Kamaltoe for president, BLM, and rainbow yard signs and cry it out with the rest of your whiney, self righteous, moon bat buddies and stfu you're giving the adults a headache. You lost deal with it.

I disagree. From the numbers, it seems that the majority of voters simply stayed home. The Dems failed to inspire turnout with their candidate selections and spent their time in office unilaterally playing by rules nobody else cares to. They suceeded in out-woking each other.

I don't think the middle class voters for Trump sincerely believe that handing our government over to immigrant billionaires that make their fortunes through the exploitation of working class people will benefit them. I think they just wanted to stick it to the Dems more than anything.

This two-party red/blue team sport we call democracy is broken.

What do you disagree with? I said the majority of voters voted for this. If you didn't vote than you weren't a voter. Pretty simple.
