I bought a llano s/s shirt from FL recently and am extremely impressed with the fit, feel, and comfort of their merino. I honestly don't know why I waited so long to try it in the first place. Does FL make anything that's comparable to the mountain pants and traverse top that Sitka makes?

Not a lot of FL pant options. I have the Kanabs which I've used from 85F down to 10F and snowy. No knee pads and not very wind resistant though. The North Branch pant is pretty heavy weight soft shell so i would probably only use those on late season hunts. I love the Kanabs though. Very versatile pant and super comfortable. Other than those two you'd be looking at the Boundary stormtight hard shell pants.
As for the traverse, I have the chama zip-t which is awesome. A lot of folks seem to like the hooded version as well. The llano ss, chama zip and springer vest will get me through the vast majority of bowseason.

There is a new pant coming out this year, looks promising but haven't seen it yet. Called the Corrugate Guide Pants. Not much out on them yet so guess we'll have to wait and see. Steve at S and S Archery saw them last week and was impressed anyway, for what that's worth....

Yup...Kanabs are similar in weight to the mountain pant (their new guide pant may be closer in durability...time will tell). As far as the traverse, the Chama shirt is a bit heavier weight than Llano and more comparable to the Traverse. The Halsted fleece is also very similar to the Traverse. For early season hunting I tend to use the Llano and Chama in a very similar way I used to use the core and traverse. I picked up the Halsted fleece and it's nice as well -- materials are closer to the traverse material and a similar weight.

as for the something comparable to the traverse, i think the halstead fleece is close. there was one for sale in the classified.

Hey buddy,
I have both and I'm on the fence about which is warmer.. I think the fleece is a little warmer (although I've hardly had a chance to test it), but definitely a little bit thicker and heavier..
I'm planning on running both over a short sleeve llano then a vest on top if needed for earlier stuff

Early season, Chama. I usually run a Llano, Chama Hoody and as the season progresses I bring the fleece. The Halstead is warmer than the chama IMO.
Ditto. I have both and think the Halstead is warmer and dries quicker. Chama stinks less.

Do you mean kanab pants? I like them because they aren't as athletically cut as the Sitka and Kuiu gear.

Yup, FL makes great gear but the fit just isn't right for me. I really like the merino but that's about it.
