I've dropped some weight (20lbs) after a back injury and medical issue that's left my 36 tall traverse and mountain pants feeling pretty loose. I'm looking at some mesa and grindstone pants in possibly a 35 or 34. I've been reading recent reviews that say they might run small and a bunch saying true to size. That makes me wonder if there are some quality control issues across the line or if there are significant size difference from pant to pant. What is your experience with Sitka and their sizing?

Ok, I got the chance to try on a few more pants but the local stores are limited on sizing. I definitely need a 34 R in the traverse. A 34R in the mesa was moose nuckle tight and 2" too short. I understand the cut being different but waist size should be the same regardless and inseam is also a pretty solid metric. Do I need to look at another brand to get consistent sizing?
