Have a MBG vengence 7 pin fixed. Im going to remove a few pins for clearer sight picture but was thinking of adding the ascent adjustment to it for longer target shooting. Shooting has been 30yds backyard, 20 indoors and up to 65 at 3D-range. Want to hear from those who went from a fixed to adjustable and if they had any issues with bottom adjustable pin?

I went from a 5 pin fixed spot hogg to a 5 pin mbg pure gold slider. Absolutely love this sight! No regrets at all. I use my pins for 20, 30, 40, 45, (all .019) and 50 (.010) for my slider. So far not a single regret!

I went from Axcel 7 pin to a 5 pin CBE Tek Hybrid and no regrets. I won't go back to a fixed pin sight. l like it and have only had one issue, completely my fault. Cost me a 150 inch whitetail. If you are messing with the slider remember to put it back, otherwise your fixed pins will be off and you'll miss!!!

I like being able to shoot out to 100 yards. My hunting partner made the same switch and didn't like the slider, he sold his and went back to fixed pins. He couldn't get a repeatable anchor and see through his peep as he would like at the longer distances. His accuracy wasn't as good with the slider so its not for everyone.

I went form 7 pin to 3 pin ascent. For my old eyes the 3 pin is much easier to see and get on target. Love the adjustability so I can quickly change for longer shot practice.

Shoot I went the other way- from a 7 pin spot hogg to a 5 pin SH...only time I used the longer pins was field round and I can always stack for those few shots- KISS

Went from 7 pin hunter hogg-it to a 3 pin tommy hogg. I might remove a pin and just go two pins but we'll see. I love the open site picture and I would find it very hard to go back to 7 pins. Also love the adjustability. I haven't hunted with it yet so we'll see but i don't see any problems.

Back and forth here. Use a fixed 5 pin during the summer in 3D and a 3 pin BG Ascent for hunting. Just sold the ascent and will be going to the new Spot Hogg Fast Eddie 2 pin for this fall.

7 pin SH to a MBG ascent. Accuracy is way better. Sight pin adjustment anxiety is way up to:(

Had a deer coming in. I kept ranging and praying I had the knob right. My own mind is gonna ruin me.

I went from a fixed 7 pin to the MBG ascent and love it, the only thing I recommend like stated before is make sure you roll back up, or are aware of where the sight is set, its part of my post shot routine now, so it has just become habit, however there still are times I will forget, hopefully it wont be while hunting, but for me the benefits of a less cluttered sight and the ability to really stretch practice range far out weighs the only con I see of one extra step for confirming the sight setting.

If that makes any sense?

I like my 5 pin slider much better than my 7 fixed pin MBG that I used for years. My only complaint, though self inflicted, is that I have forgotten to move the slider back to "0" after shooting longer ranges, only to sail an arrow about 5 feet over the target at 20 yards :) That's happened, gee I don't know.... several times!

I went from a 5 pin to a slider to a 7 pin, and might go back to a 5 pin. The slider sucked on moving animals, and holding a little high or low was not that big of a deal.

I am running a 3 pin slider right now. But I have a new spott Hogg double pin on order. I think that will be perfect.

I have used the SH Hogg it with 5 pins for years. LOVE that sight.

Two years ago I picked up a Tommy Hogg 3 pin and thought this is great! Then last year I picked up another Tommy but with a single pin. The two bows are set up the same otherwise and I will say I shoot better with the single pin at longer ranges. With that said, this fall I will have a 3 pin Tommy in my hands for elk. I used both last year and both killed elk and deer.
The 3 pin slider is IMO a great tool for elk when you are calling, or any other time when ranges can change fast.

Jacob, let me know if you want to trade that for some waders, or a pair of wading boots. :)
