Interesting. The information I found was compiled by the Humane Society, but apparently government data.

Either way, your comment, while true on a national basis, was completely false for Wisconsin and Idaho. I was done reading at that point.
Wait, so you're telling me that dogs dont kill more livestock in states that actually have wolves in them? Crazy.

Also, there are approximately 90 million dogs in the US compared to 18,000 estimated wolves, no $h!t they kill more livestock nationally. Just more Buzz statistics at work.

Really? That’s crazy. Never heard of domestic dogs killing more than wolves
Killing and injury are different issues.. always about the fine print. He is not comparing wolf vs domestic in rural Idaho, Montana, or Wy . He is just tossing out statistic that includes all 50 states. The domestic issue is a direct correlation to large urban cities.

And actually interpret the data.

Overall dogs kill more. In states that have wolves, it's not even close, wolves kill far more than dogs. If there were wolves in 50 states the overall numbers wouldn't be close.

Most all the Dog deaths are in the southeast. There are virtually none in wolf states.

And how may have the data changed since the study was done? 6 years is a long time and a lot of missing data.

There's more recent data up to 2019...even in the west dogs kill a lot of livestock.

If you really cared about cattle loses you'd find a way to cure their belly aches and respiratory problems.

Predation is around 10% of loses, and wolves are a small part of that 10%.

I'm not a secretary....its public record. Not my job to spoon feed you your mush.
The actual study is needed to understand the methods used. After all, they could have lumped all canine related cattle deaths into the same (1) category. So without posting an actual study your comments and opinion are 100٪ meaningless.

Domestic dogs kill wayyyyy more livestock than wolves....fact.

Keep fluffy on a leash if you're concerned about cattle loss.
I hate to see a wolf kill cattle but I think most members on here are more concerned with the elk and moose they will eat. I think Colorado would learn from Idaho, Montana Wyoming wolf experiment. They are obviously in Colorado already the idea of introducing more on top of the dogs already moving in is absurd and sad.

So we can look at the data Buzz pointed us to, it's from 2015. APHIS hasn't published the new one yet. Should be coming out any time but not out yet. (That's why he won't post a link.)

List the state, first number is % of predator deaths by dogs, second is by wolves. Judge for yourself which is a bigger problem in the west.

AZ: 35.3%, 9.9%
CO: .3%, 2.1%
ID: 0%, 33.1%
MT: 0%, 10.2%
NV: 0%, 0%
NM: .7%, 7.1%
OR: 0%, 17.8%
UT: 0%, 0%
WA: 8.5%, 24.2%
WY: 0%, 18.4%

Damn dogs.

The data is out there....find it yourself.

Not in the habitat of giving a man a fish, better for them to learn how to fish.
I don't have a problem with finding data. I have a problem with you saying you had data ready to back your claim up, and then not having the data to back your claim up. Also with your general attitude, tbh. The whole "smarter than thou" thing gets old, fast.
