First Lite's 2016 Rain Gear Review, by Matt Wymer (and win your own!!)

Having used these rain jackets for fishing, did you find that they absorb the smell of fish like Gore-Tex seems to do? Would you think that you could use the same jacket for fishing and hunting without carrying the smell from fishing with you?
I have never had an issue with my rain gear retaining fish (or shrimp) smells. I wash using sport wash and its never really been an issue. Smells the day of, but not so much after. I try to keep as much slime off as possible and when it comes to cleaning I rinse a lot or switch to HellyHansen gear. I typically only use the breathable rain gear when in the river, but wanted to push the limits on the stuff so we did the boat trip. :)

Great review. How would you rate the durability of the vapor?

Appreciate the positive feedback guys! We sure are blessed to have some great options in rain gear these days!

As for the Vapor, Durability seems to be decent so far. Haven't had to bust brush in it yet so can't comment on that aspect.
Is there a specific test or something I might be able to do to help answer your question?

Thanks for the great intel Matt. Thanks for the opportunity at some great gear First Lite!

Montana archery antelope and elk...hopefully something in Alaska one day. :)

Just always curious on how these ultra lights actually hold up.

Not sure if it's past the first 50 now. But I'll be in Alberta chasing primarily elk this year! Loving all the reviews lately as well.
