First Lite 2014 line

Sorry for the late reply. We have have been busy around here . The Last small batch of 2013 and 2014 Kanabs Fabric has been changed to a core spun wool that adds at least 25% more durability probably a lot more, but feels pretty much the same as the early 2013. The Stormtight pants have a small pocket on the outside but in order to keep weight down and spread your gear out to much, we designed the zipper system to easily access what ever pants you have on underneeth.

Yes, but its not going to hold up to a long term deluge like a true rain jacket would and it does not have a hood. I am testing a pile of soft shells, including the Northbranch jacket. I have had it all of maybe 3 days now, while it may be a great weather barrier it would never replace true rain gear, at least for me. It's a burly tough jacket and I'll know more after I can get it out this spring. It is a fully taped jacket, but I am pretty sure even the guys at First Lite would not promote this an alternative to rain gear, its just a good weather fighting tool for your kit. More to come once I can get some real field time in it.

None of the soft shells I am testing would ever replace any of my rain gear.. For whatever that is worth. ;)

I keep hearing rumors of this.. ;)

Thanks for the clarification. Hunting west side, I need good rain gear and the soft shell is a lot quieter than rain gear. If it was in fact water PROOF, I was in. Since it is water RESISTANT, I am still searching.

Let me do a shower test with it this weekend and let you know how long it holds up. For a soft shell its probably the most weatherproof one out there. However, with that said, the Stormtight is not that loud. Just something to think about. Give First Lite a call, they have tested the jacket for a while now and should be able to better steer you. I'm just getting started with my testing and won't get a lot of field time in wet conditions with the gear until spring to finalize my analysis.

Thant's great to hear as I do love the fit/comfort of these pants.

At first glance, how would the Jetstream Lite owners compare the the Jetstream to the North Branch soft shell. Going to purchase one or the other.

Looking again at the First Lite video, from Vegas i think, and looking at info on S&S I would agree.

Got out last night in a snow / rain storm and did some hiking in the new outerwear, I was very impressed. I am putting a blog post together with more pics and info but here is one with the North Branch jacket.

I'm ordering a chama hoodie as soon as I can find one in ASAT. Just wish I could have it in time for turkey season.

Those Boundary pants are awesome! I'll be a buyer when they put pockets on them. I need pockets on an outer layer, most the time I only wear the base layer under the rain gear.
