Lots of stuff on here about painting stocks. I've done quite a bit of painting with a pretty wide range of results. I have a Stocky's "factory second" carbon fiber stock, and I'd really like to do this one right. It's not in bad shape by any means, but it has some pinholes and imperfections that are purely cosmetic. I want to paint the stock, but I'm concerned that painting will bring out the imperfections instead of covering them up.
I've read about a few different strategies. Some talk about using bondo, but I wouldn't really know how to begin with that. Others say to use a filling primer and then sand before applying the color of your choice. If anyone can share their process with me, I'd really appreciate it. There are so many little details (like what grit of sandpaper, when to dry sand vs wet sand, etc) that I don't know.
