Motion to defer action by BIA.
It’s deferred, unanimously, until further analysis after season. Will be brought up again before next season.

2022 but really doesn't matter because the special action request was specifically for Aug and Sept 2021. They will find out that they can't just create a WSA22-01 I think. It will have to come through the whole process again. In fact, they are saying as much now.Deferred. Until when???

Pretty disappointing really when they had all the info they needed to make a decision now.

That dang NWAS RAC would probably propose another one anyway!Pretty disappointing really when they had all the info they needed to make a decision now.
Sorry not sorry, but there is no way in hell the locals didn’t know the difference between moose and caribou. That area was where my new wife and I spent our official honeymoon. We both took great caribou (she killed and field-dressed her own bull all on her own!) and we caught grayling and 36" sheefish until our arms hurt.
Literally the trip of a lifetime, dropped off by Warbelow's mail plane in Ambler.
The one thing I'll never forget was when we were offloading caribou heads, several local natives were chiding us about making sure we got all of our 'moose meat.' They didn't know the difference between caribou and moose antlers. Anecdotal, but It speaks to the fact that there are a select few pulling the political strings for the masses.
