I'm glad that you are talking crazy talk but in a crazy world and I was only allowed to keep 2 rifles, I'd be hard pressed to leave out the .22 and my other rifle would be the caliber that I use for everything from coyotes to elk, the .300 Win Mag. (currently I only have 5 different .300 WM's to choose from though)
I may have to change my logic to this.....very solid option here as well. So far a three rifle option....I say 22, 6.5 and 300 win mag! And to be clear...we are only talking rifles. Gotta have a shotgun and handgun as well.

I have mine. Two light recoil. 243 and 350 Legend. Inside 300 yards were good on most stuff south of big bears. I'd shoot an elk w the legend wo a concern, sucker penetrates.

.22 rim fire and a 25-06.

I like to eat and these two have kept me fed well.

.22 and 30-06. All of my big game for the last 15 years has been taken with the 30-06 and 165 grain interbonds. Works well for me.

30-06 has been my one trick pony for years! It's been a favorite as I've always found ammo, never has an animal thought a well placed shot was too light, and recoil is uber manageable even in Sako Finnlight.

That said I've sold that rifle and look forward to getting something different just for s@$ts and giggles.
