Can the skinny kids join the conversation? 7 weeks ago started a fitness challenge to gain weight, currently 6'1" 173 and trying to get up to that 180 range. Gain two pounds since I started. Hopefully in the next two months I can bulk up to that 180 mark before I go back up to AK.

Fun to watch these types of threads as people meet there goals

You just need to come to the south for a few weeks. I could get you to 180+ in a long weekend.

I had a friend that was South Indian, vegetarian, 5'11", and 97lbs... He bought this book and he stays at 120-130 now. Maybe that will help.

In the middle guy checking in here.

Was 230 January 1. March 1 at 205 lbs. This morning was 202 lbs. Goal is 190 by April 15th and should shatter that.

I'm rather concious at what I'm putting in my body right now. Started out on heavy restrictions, but relaxed a little after talking with a dietician.

I mainly eat pork, eggs, chicken, red meat, fish with healthy veggies that I like steamed. My go to snack/desert are roasted almonds, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. Also eat a fairly large portion of cheese. I drink bang energy drinks and water.

I cut out:
Alcohol
Darn near everything involving Corn syrup
90% of the absolutely terrible carbs
Juice
Bread
Grains

I allow myself 1 cheat weekend about every 3 weeks.

Excersise works too, but I contribute my gains to the strict diet.

220# last Nov. 187# yesterday. Goal is 175#. Hoping to be there in a couple more months, then the hard part, keeping it off long term lol. Mostly cardio and watching intake.

Nothing wrong with whole grain breads imo.

Among the best carbs are black beans and sweet potatoes....very good for pre workout.. I eat 4-5# of blueberries a week, they are among the top super foods.

Black beans fried alongside my eggs, a couple times a week, are what keep me regular. Sweet potatoes are a super food. I make a hash with them, venison burger and onion. Supplies a ton of energy when I need it for workouts or a tough work day.

After that last post I realized I’m a fat guy on a fat guy weight loss thread giving healthy food advice. Sounds pretty absurd. Truth is I’m pretty good at losing weight, it’s just that I’m even better at gaining it. I’m guessing I’m not alone here in that.

Honestly that sounds very healthy and delicious and no I’m sure it’s not just you and me.
I managed to gain both muscle and fat between my first and second weigh in. 🤦🏼‍♂️
But when I went out of work on disability I cut back my intake because I knew I’d puff up if I kept eating like I was working, so I’m going to chalk that fat gain up to finding my groove again...

Losing the weight is the easy part, keeping it off is the trick lol

218.2 this AM, up 5 from last Thursday. I blame the RMEF chapter banquet. My guess is that is mostly water from carb loading all weekend.

6 ft 44yo. Goal weight is <200 by September. Anything in the 190s would be fine.

I've been on the dirty keto, low carb diet since last November and have shed 12-16 lbs. without putting too much effort on the diet. Mixed cardio, mostly running, 2-3 times a week and weight training.

Stayed steady at 208. Still need to work on drinking less and being more committed to the diet, definitely not helping the weight loss. 6-03 28 years old. Planning on 190 by Aug.

Those alcohol calories add up quick. I was a bourbon lover but had to kick it out completely to get anywhere.

Drop the booze and you'll see the fat start falling off too.
