Guys this is a great thread I have lerked for a while thinking gaining inspiration. I started my Journey back in November after hunting season and realizing once again that I was fat and out of shape. I started at 250ish I now am at 223 last week. I have changed my diet in a big way. Its funny how crappy I feel the next day when I give in to temptation and have a big bowl of ice cream. I have felt so much better in my daily life bu losing almost 30 lbs.

I hope to make it to 200 lbs.

Thanks again for all your stories and keep working. Ill will do better to contribute.

Weighted 250

I'm very muscular so alot of my weight is muscle but do have a thicker layer of blubber than what I wanted to admit to myself. Got some news from my work yearly physical that my A1C is now @ the low end of being a diabetic. I refuse to let this be. So my diet, which has always been my enemy, is changing. I am back in the gym and am determined to not only drop weight but get my numbers corrected. I've got 3 months of work ahead before my next doc visit and a month after that will be time to hunt. No better time then now. Already keeping track of my weight each day I am at the gym and am down to 245.6 already. Good start but a long ways to go.

Stuck around 193-196 right now. Over-trained for an ultra and had to take a week and a half off with no running at all to let my anterior tibular tendon heal before the race on the 18th. Felt great for the first 20 miles, then IT band and quads began to cramp. Ended up missing a cutoff at mile 40 by 7 minutes and they pulled me from the race. Disappointing to say the least, but trying to be thankful for the lessons learned.

Anyways, legs are finally feeling human again, one more day off then I'm getting back out there for more miles and more fun. Hopefully I'll see 185 in the next ~3 weeks or so! And be ready for my 8 hour trail race on 6/15!

A little late to check in this week. Was 203 this morning. Goal of 195 by July 4 seems doable. Now to kick it in the ass on pack training, pretty sure we'll draw a high country tag and it'll be my first backpack hunt.

Glad you’re jumping right in here with us. A little extra fat is one thing, an actual health issue is another. We’ll encourage you along the path. You got this.

I thought I would join in. I was 248.6 on March 28th and actually have two sheep hunts and a goat hunt this year. You can see the problem! As of last weigh in which was Wednesday, I am down to 222.2. It would be nice to get down to 200, but I am just taking it one day at a time while getting my legs, lungs and heart in shape. Diet seems to have been everything in getting to the point I am at and I know there is a long way to go. I was running hill repeats on my long driveway two days ago and started to get pain in my left achilles tendon and immediately backed off. It's tender today and I feel lucky to have avoided a bigger issue that could have ruined the year. At 49 years old I have to train different if I want to have success this year with my weight and on these hunts.

Yukon stone sheep in August, Colorado Rocky Ram in September and BC goat in November. Good luck to all on their progress. I'll be following along.

New to Rokslide. I don't usually do social media/posts, but here it goes. Started at 260 shooting for 215. Started in January, currently 225lbs. I hunt Idaho mountains, and decided a 4-5 day backpack hunt is what needs to happen this year. Diet and running(occasionally) pick up basketball. There's my back story.....

Really good week this week - down 4lbs. Weighed in at 242.8 this morning.
I am sure the progress will plateau before reaching my goal but at this point the trend line has me surpassing goal earlier than I expected.

Start of this fat guy thread 240.6(250 on New Years Day)
3/11 235.2
3/18 232.9
3/25 230.2
4/1 226.5
4/8 223.9
4/15 221
4/22 220
5/6 216.9
5/13 217.3(n)

It’s getting a lot tougher as I approach my goal. I have friends calling me scarecrow and skinny Bob. It feels damn good. Stepped up my aerobics, running and rucking. Diet has been very clean. Overall I haven’t felt this good in a long time.

196 today, down a pound. Was fairly surprised at that number after spending the last 3 days imbibing a fair amount.

Weighed myself Monday, just haven't made time to update until today. I'm up 1.2 from last week. I've been hitting all my AM workouts, but my diet hasn't been great. Not horrible, but not great. Gotta dial that in this week. I'm really looking forward to breaking into the teens.

I’ve jump started my weight loss by maintaining my low carb diet and introduced intermittent fasting. Anyone who is stuck or plateaued should try this. It’s tough to do but really got me dropping weight again. Just google it, there’s plenty of info on it. I’m on the 16/8 method. Keep up the good work everyone!
