As promised here are the final bag Capacities. Earlier prototype bags were pretty spot on and I didn't make any substantial size changes so the final numbers ended up right there with the name.

3600= 3620 with lid= 4268
5000= 5010 with lid= 5658
7200= 7180 with lid= 7828

Lid only = 648

Appreciate it Steve! I am looking forward to getting my hands on one of these!

The K4 lid definitely does not flop around and if anything the final designs snug down tighter to the frame than K3 does. It just has a little more height to the lid than K3 and that’s where the extra volume comes from.
That is good to hear.

I watched some recent Born videos and the lid on Trent’s test pack sure looked floppy- however a few other YouTube vids of packs showed it more snug.

Yeah Trent is about the worst case example of a guy a who gives two shits what his pack looks like while he’s hunting. One of those guys who just throws his pack on and goes. Half the time he doesn’t have any of the buckles strapped. I give him plenty of flack for it that’s for sure.

I did make some tweaks from the prototypes to finished product as well. The connection of the lid to the top of the frame is tighter.

Well- don’t beat him up too bad. Besides the lid looking floppy - his abuse on gear fits more my style- so I appreciate the reality of that.

If people want to see the nice and neat pack just guide them to Corey’s vids on elk101.

Will the k4 belt and/or shoulder straps fit on a k3 frame?

No, I truly wanted to design K4 from the ground up and not be limited to making sure K4 was compatible with previous generations. I didn’t want to compromise K4’s designs based off decisions I made in the past.

We will 100% support K3 for the next 2-3 years though. If there is anything you need in that timeframe we’ll have it for you.

I listened to the podcast this evening on my drive to the valley to pick up a work truck, and there may be nothing new to those who followed this thread, but still a great listen.

It’s cool to have the info compiled into a podcast with the story behind it, and it completely validates what I like so much about exo, solid dudes making great products and love their job.

It did make me more antsy to order one though, I’m looking forward to driving to Portland next month than going to Hawaii Friday morning, haha… and I despise Portland.

Going to get there early, haul ass to the exo booth and then get out of dodge… I can’t handle crowds for long, it’s a very purpose driven trip😏

Steve,
As soon as you can how about a video or tutorial on sizing and fit for the new frame sizes and belts so we can be ready when you drop them.

Any of you guys that currently have a K2 system who plan on upgrading want to sell me a K2 load crib panel. Feel free to PM so we don't derail this thread. Would like to avoid scammers with a WTB thread.
Thanks

**UPDATE***
I got one from EXO, thanks to everybody who reached out though

Thanks for posting the video Cass. Love to hear the pack did great for you this past season.

One note I saw watching the video is that you don’t need to undo the load lifter webbing to get the bag off. Just disengage the Velcro and you can lift the bag right off the frame.
Great video and some great animals!!

Without touching the load lifter straps, I would just loosened the lid straps enough to pull some slack, and then would reach in and undo the velcro and then slip it off the frame. Super easy and efficient design!

Definitely we'll have all that done and up on website / youtube before the launch. We'll be traveling a lot this month for shows so I plan to get all that content shot very early in March.

Final specs for you guys with weights.

Frame only w/ Small belt and 25" Frame = 2lbs 15oz

Complete 3600 pack w/ lid = 5lbs 8oz - Total ci= 3620 - w/ lid 4268

Complete 5000 pack w/lid = 5lbs 13oz - Total ci= 5010 - w/ Lid 5658

Complete 7200 pack w/ lid = 5lbs 15oz - Total ci= 7180 - w/ Lid 7828

The Lid is 7.5 oz and all the packs are designed to run easily without it. You can take 7.5 oz off the weights above if you want to run without a lid and get the pack as light as possible.

Steve-
I’m assuming you will be launching the dry bags to fit these packs as well with the launch, as one of the few accessories? Or should we plan on buying a K3 bag that is close in size?
