I know since covid customer service is a thing of the past. I've always had good luck with a few companies, one being Eurooptic. I purchased a tikka through their sale, a 16in 308 that was threaded with adapter. I get a called from my FFL to go pick it up, it is still boxed up and in plastic but take a look through the plastic, right model, right caliber, right barrel length. I get home and pull it completely out, it is not threaded. The entire reason I purchased this model over the cheaper base t3x is because it was threaded. It was about $170 more, but where I live, it's a pain to ship guns and gunsmithing is suspect, so would be over $170 in shipping/effort/gunsmithing to get a base model threaded. Should I of checked before leaving? yes, I assumed everything else was correct so that part would be.
Here is where it gets interesting. I send an email last night explaining the issue, send the link to the rifle I purchased with threading being mentioned in the specs 2 different places, and ask them to get back to me on how to proceed. I don't hear from them in the morning so I call after lunch. Right before I call, I'm pulling everything up for reference and the link to the rifle, the description is now changed. Someone saw my email and changed the description, taking out mention of threaded barrel from two places, and then did not contact me. I call, they tell me there is no listing discrepancy and no one changed the description on the website, nothing to be done. Luckily, just from being a cynical person, last night I took pictures of the description and a video of me scrolling the link (so you could see their SKU number and description, couldn't get both in same picture). I send that to them, they deliberate for a bit, then tell me they can send me the rifle I ordered, I just need to pay the difference ($100 and shipping and another $50 transfer fee). At this point I want to just return the rifle, which they say I can. I ask them what they can do about the $50 I am out on a transfer fee, nothing, so I'm out $50 and the hassle of packing/shipping it back for their listing mistake. Overall they were not helpful and honestly deceitful, which this is 100% not the way I was expecting the call to go, I've had great experiences with them in the past.
I'm not sure the purpose of this other than I felt like b*tching and the entire ordeal was surprising to me. I'm out $50, not the end of the world, but doesn't make it right.... Thought I'd share.
****UPDATE****
Since the thread was started Nate from Eurooptic reached out to me via phone call. He apologized and said there was some miscommunication between departments and there was no intent to deceive. They are sending me the rifle I ordered as described and refunding my original $50 transfer fee. He was more than helpful and got everything straightened out.
