Just trying to ascertain an average price line here.

What is everyone paying to have a simple Euro mount done?
I'm specifically looking for costs on deer, just the whitened skull, no plaque.

I'm thinking of maybe starting a quick sideline gig & I don't want to price myself out of the market or, conversely, do myself a disservice.

I don't think all Euro mounts are equal and the price can reflect that. A deer, verse a bear, verse a moose is going to be different too.

Local guy does beetles and whitens for $175 for a deer I think. It was 150 and I know he recently raised price, it was in that neighborhood. I paid similar for an antelope in WY in 2022. Both cases I thought they did an exceptional job, ie ALL tiny bones intact, 110% of tissue gone, evenly whitened, zero odor, no yellowing since, etc.

Who cares what the average price is? As a business owner it’s up to you to determine what your overhead expenses are, what costs go in to doing each mount, the amount of time it takes to handle each mount which includes everything from answering emails and phone calls, to receiving packages and shipping packages to doing the actual work. At that point you then decide what you need to charge in order to pay yourself and keep the lights on.

This is why so many businesses fail in the first year.

yup, agree with what others have said. $150 and up seems to be a standard rate in my parts for a deer. Much below that and you might start questioning the quality of the work.

I’ve seen anywhere from 125-250 for just a skull bleach and no plaque. For strictly hand to hand transactions (no shipping either way) I’d think the 150$ mark is appealing where anything 200 and over seems excessive personally but I’m not a taxi.

Market only supports the avg

$125 here for whitetails. Turn around quite a few months. He does several hundred each year. He's done several for me. A bear from last spring, which will be done any day. And my bow 9 pt from 11/6.
He has skulls shipped to him from all across country.

Use a guy in TN near the farm he charges $100 for deer he is also a taxidermy. Usually takes him about 4 to 6 weeks. His work is good for me and my family.

If looking for an average I would look in your market. If the average out west is $175 but the average in the east is $125. I think it would be hard to get $175 in the east and not smart financially to charge $125 in the west.
