Does everyone that kills a 190 class buck just round up to 200”?

I spent yesterday walking around the hunting expo looking at mounts. Many of which I’ve seen pictures of online and heard claims of scores. I feel like I hardly ever hear people talk about killing deer in the 190’s but I do hear a lot of claims of 200” deer.
I saw a post today of a really nice typical 4 point with no eye guards. The post said #200inchclub. It was a nice buck but jeez.. do people realize how big a deer has to be to score 200” as a typical? You’re not fooling anyone but yourself.
I kill to follow a b&c scorer around that place and get their honest opinions on some of these animals.

A lot of people seem to just guess at score without actually putting tape on it as well. Could be with the buck that it’s a 200” gross, net could be a decent amount lower than that

Deer only come in even numbers 140, 160, 180, 200 220 and 240. It’s kind of like asking a cowboy how old his horse is it seems to always come out in odd numbers.

Many people throw an incorrect tape on their animals or just figure they’re about that. I’ve had people tell me about the 200” buck they saw, we put eyes on the exact same buck and he’s more like 160. I’ve also seen guys print off the BC score sheet and add ALL the numbers together like add the outside spread instead of inside spread, or use greatest spread. Gross vs net.

But in all honesty a 200” sounds better than 190”
