Have zero points as this is a late decision but would I have a chance to draw tag on any decent public land area for upcoming season?

Oh yeah, you could draw something decent. Especially if you enter in the special draw. There will probably be some decent ones left over also.

Me and my brother have drawn Area 21 two years in a row with zero points. There is a lot of other hunters fighting over limited amount of public ground but it's doable. We tagged out both years. These were not trophies. My 2015 buck was pretty nice so I got him mounted.

Me and a couple friends were thinking area 23 or 25. Tags look easy to draw outta those areas. Anyone have experience with them?

You will need to look at some BLM maps to determine which one has more access. Just looking at them online. It looks like 25 has more accessible public land than 23. Although some of the land in 25 would take some serious walking.

You should have a good chance of drawing a tag if you pick your choices carefully. You can increase your chances by applying for the special tag , more $ but better draw odds. And I would second the statement that the leftovers can also be an option.

Be cautious. A lot of units have large tracts of BLM with no legal way to access them. You need to contact the county to find out which roads are public and then see what you can access. There is plenty of time to do the research and find a good area before applications are due. Some units have large chunks of public cut off by very narrow strips of private land that the roads run through.

If you go to the Wyoming fish and game site you can pull draw results to see the chances. Takes a little doing but makes the whole process fun!

Isn't it too late for NR to get tags still?

Click on the hunt planner maps and it will show you the amount of accessible public land and also highlight the public access areas, HMA's and walk in areas etc.. That will give you an idea of just how limited your access may be.

Be careful waiting on leftovers. Some of the units that used to have hundreds of leftovers have had the tags reallocated to private land only tags. Some of the others have had tags cut. If I were you I would put in for 25. If you are willing to walk you can find goats and get away from others.

I also wouldn't wait on left overs this year I'll bet the fish and game will cut tag numbers after this winter
