Discontinued Products you wish were still available

Thank you all for this thread. It made me feel young over and over again because I don’t know what half this shit is.

Consistant mushrooms without breaking up, accurate to at least 600 yds consistantly.

Corelocks would be an option except I haven't seen any for sale since the 80s. Same with grandslams. I haven't seen a box of speers on the shelf for 20 years.

I our country all we have to pick from are little fast bullets that break up. Slower bullets produce less bloodshot and no lead in the meat. After 50 years I'm not worried about hitting critters. I want to be able to eat them. I like consistancy and dependable choices. Having to start over to find something that works every time is not desirable. Even if the companies make them it doesn't do you any good if the stores won't stock them.

Thanks for the reply - I have read many laments but few details.

Once I am done dialing in a 35 Rem load I will start on my 7mm-08.

I like the pointy Speer Hot-Cor 160 gr, but want to work up a round nose load. I have 500 each of Sierra 170's and Remington 165's. If I get one bullet working better than the other, I will sell the remainder; else I'll flip a coin.

FWIW - I regularly see 7mm Mag-Tip, Grand Slam, pointy Hot-Cor, and Remington bullets offered on Gunbroker. Some of each there now.

Picture - 7mm Speer Hot-Cor 160, Remington Core-Lokt 165, and Sierra ProHunter 170 gr
